Not too many matches this weekend but in the LFDA 19’s, Bellshill Athletic went top of the table on thirteen points from five matches after beating EKFC 8-2 at home, whilst Hampden BC got their second win of this season’s campaign when they travelled to East Kilbride, beating EKFC Blue 0-5.
All LFDA 17’s matches were cancelled at the weekend.
In section A of the 16’s, Mossend FC and Wishaw WW drew 2-2. This result takes Mossend into eighth place and lifts Wishaw from the bottom after gaining their first point. EKFC Gold increased their position at the head of the table when they beat Muirton FC 1-4 away from home, meaning they retain their 100% record on twelve points and Muirton remain in fourth with seven points.
Five matches were played in section B, where leaders East End Thistle and Kelvindale Thistle both sit on twelve points but East End have played a game less. East End Thistle beat Aston Villa 2-0 and Kelvindale Thistle put nine past the unfortunate Airdrie Villa who remain pointless for now. EKFC Red scored an equally amazing nine against Whitecraigs Viola without reply, Reds now have six points. Strathaven Dynamo and New Stevenson drew two each and both now have seven points and sit in fourth and third places respectively. Finally in the B section, Whitecraigs AFC were beaten 4-7 by EKYC.
In the 15’s section A, Eddiewood were beaten 1-5 by Clyde Valley and in section B, Aston Villa and Westwood Rovers drew two all. Villa now have four points and Rovers sit on seven. Claremont AFC moved to within two points of leaders Drumsagard Blue when they beat Coatshill BC 9-0 and they now have thirteen points while Coatshill sit bottom on three. Holytown Colts and Strathaven Dynamo fought out a nine goal thriller that saw Colts edge the result with a 5-4 win. Holytown are now in third place and Dynamo mid table on seven. Lastly, Milan BC were beaten 1-5 at home by Blantyre BC, the victors now on ten points.
We finish this week with the 14’s, starting with the single match in section A were Aston Villa won 7-3 at home to Wishaw WW. Aston Villa moved into third place whilst Wishaw remain at the foot of the table. In section B, Coatshill had a solid 4-0 win over Whitecraigs Viola. This was Coatshill’s second win and moved them into fourth and Viola remain in bottom place. EK Caledonian Blue were narrowly beaten 0-1 by visitors Newmains Hammers. The Hammers remain just two points behind joint leaders EKRR Youth and Strathaven Dynamo who both won. EKRR Youth beat local rivals EKFC Red by a convincing 9-2 score line. Youth now on twelve and Red on six points. And finally, Strathaven Dynamo won away to Mill United Colts 1-7.
