Competition: Scottish Youth FA Cup - Round 4
Venue: Hamilton Palace
Date: Sunday 22nd November 2015
Moorlands Reds hosted Kelty Hearts Colts in Round 4 of the Scottish Cup on a cold Sunday afternoon at Hamilton Palace. Moorlands came from a goal behind to book their place in the last 16 of the compeition.
The visitors from Fife drew first blood in the match only 17 minutes in when their striker put them ahead with a neat finish. Hopefully going behind would wake Moorlands up after a slow start.
It certainly was the wakeup call that the home side needed as just three minutes later, Moorlands were level when Mark Skelton hit a delightful ball through to Aaron McNeil, he chipped the advancing keeper, and the ball nestled sweetly in the back of the net.
The home side then went ahead on the half-hour mark with a sensational strike from McNeil, to double his tally for the afternoon.
Just before the half time break, Moorlands gave themselves some breathing space as McNeil sealed his hat-trick with a lovely finish to put Moorlands 3-1 up at the interval.

Shortly after the break, Mark McNulty put some clear blue water between the teams , as he burst away from the defenders in close attendance, and finished with an excellent drive into the corner of the net.
Kelty kept plugging away bravely and tried to pose as much of a threat as possible. However, as they tired, Moorlands took advantage to add to their tally. McNeil slotted home his fourth and Moorlands' fifth.
With seconds left on the clock, skipper Mark McNulty rounded off the scoring as he powerfully burst through on goal to fire the ball past the helpless keeper, and to send Moorlands into the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.
Credit is due to both teams for putting on an enjoyable and sportingly-contested match on a very cold afternoon.
