Two goals in each half for Camelon Juniors saw them defeat Kilsyth Athletic 4-0 in this CSFA 'A' Division League match.

First half goals from Connor Armstrong and Charlie Lansdown in the space of two minutes put them in the lead at half time. Lewis Hall and Ryan Shearer's goals in the second half rounded off the scoring on a good outing for Camelon.

The game started in a scrappy manner with both teams trying to keep a hold of the ball.

The first chance in the game came for Camelon. Thomas Hodgkins collected the ball on the half way line and floated the ball over the Kilsyth defence to Kai Flynn who's cross from the right found Charlie Lansdown on the edge of the box who's shot at goal was arrowed for the bottom left corner but a great save from Kaiden Ashmall in the Kilsyth goal kept the score at 0-0.

Kilsyth then had a half-chance of their own. A nice 1-2 on the left between Blair Buchanan and Sean Murray, gave Murray the space to play the ball out to Brandon Burns on the wing, who put a dangerous cross in which had to be cleared by the Camelon defence.

Camelon opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time. Great work on the edge of the box by Felix Hall who avoided challenges from the Kilsyth defence and played the ball into Connor Armstrong who smashed the ball into the back of the net at the keepers near post.

Only a minute later, Camelon were 2-0 up. Kilsyth failed to clear, and Kai Flynn was on the edge of the box to collect the ball and play a pass into the box for Charlie Lansdown who put the ball past the outrushing Ashmall.

The second half started with both teams' final ball really lacking.

The first chance of the half came from Camelon. A great pass from Felix Hall found Connor Armstrong, who held off his marker on the edge of the box and got a shot off again. Ashmall in the Kilsyth goal made a great save down to his right-hand side.

Kilsyth fashioned their first chance of the half. Good work by Brandon Burns in the middle of the park as he skipped past a few Camelon players and played in Sean Murray on the corner of the area but he dragged his shot wide.

Camelon could've had a third. Ryan Shearer latched onto a long ball and raced through on goal, but he put his effort just wide of the far post.

Kilsyth created another opportunity. great work by Sean Murray on the right wing, holding off defenders to send a cross into the box for Sean Bowie, who's shot was comfortably held by Jai Wilson in the Camelon goal.

However, Camelon settled the game with their third goal. A short corner taken by Marc Shand, played the ball to Lewis Hall, who controlled the pass on the left corner of the 18-yard box and had a great effort at goal which flew over Ashmall.

Camelon got their 4th goal with 15 minutes to go. A ball played over the top for Ryan Shearer who shrugged off defenders and ran through on goal and slotted past Ashmall.

Pushing for a consolation late, Kilsyth's Jack Rankin collected the ball in the middle of the park and played a great ball through to Sean Murray who attempted to lob the keeper, but his effort was just over the bar.

Overall, Camelon played very well. They were very good in front of goal and strong at the back and their clean sheet showed that. Had Kilsyth taken their chances in the second half, it may have well turned out a different game, but Camelon came away comfortable winners in the end.

Magic Moment

The passage of play which put Sean Murray through on goal, a great pass from Jack Rankin and Murray was unlucky not to find the net.
Lewis Hall's goal. Quick thinking by Marc Shand to take a short corner, who found Hall and his effort flew into the net.
