  • C&KDYL Kevin Horner Cup Final
The game started brightly at Broadwood Stadium, despite the cloudy skies overhead in Cumbernauld.
The cup final crowd had to wait all of two minutes before Paul Archibald hit the back of the net, signalling Glenboig's intent early in the game.
Rossvale had a few good chances but Glenboig remained in the lead for another thirty minutes before two quick goals from Rossvale, both originating from corners, in the thirty-second and thirty-fourth minutes. The tie had been turned on its head.
The first half ended 2-1 to Rossvale with all to play for. Few could have predicted what was in store in the second forty minute period.

Glenboig came out fighting with an equaliser from Andy Chrystal coming just three minutes into the second half. Their relief was short-lived however when Jamie McEwan took Rossvale into the lead with a smart goal just two minutes later.

Rossvale could have been forgiven for thinking the cup was all but theirs as they continued to have the upper hand until the sixty-seventh minute when Logan Woods equalised for Glenboig, with the next ten minutes seeing five goals scored at Broadwood Stadium.

Rossvale went back in front in the sixty-ninth minute with another goal from Jamie McEwan, and just five minutes later John Connelly made it 5-3 to Rossvale before scoring yet again in the seventy-sicth minute.

Glenboig netted a consolation goal just 3 minutes from full-time when Adam Revie found the back of the net.

At several points in the game, it could have gone either way, but Rossvale emerged the winners of this ten-goal cup final and lifted the Kevin Horner Cup, despite a valiant fight from Glenboig.
