Central Girls were at it again this weekend as they claimed more trophies for their ever growing collection. They headed to the Loch Lomond Youth Soccer Festival in fine form after victories for their teams in Leicester, Leven, Liverpool and Stoke this year.
At the 13's age group, both of Central Girl's teams made it to the semi-final stage. However, Academy came out on top in the battle of the Central Girl sides to face a tough Heart of Midlothian Girls. Two goals from Megan Gallagher were enough to see off the Edinburgh side 2-1 on the day and to claim their first silverwear of the festival.
The clean sweep was then completed with victory for the 15's who were deserved winners, scoring 20 goals and conceding none through-out the two day event. Their run included wins over Dunfermline, Hibernian and finally Forfar, who they defeated 4-0 in the final thanks to goals from Kane (2), Newbigging and McAlpine.
With success for the 11's at the Cumbernauld Colts Festival as well, the future looks bright for the club. Ian Dibdin, Coach at the club said "As a fantastic summer comes to a close, the Central Girls can reflect on a successful one. Well done all players, coaches and parents."
