Dumbarton Riverside FC Under 13s are pleased to announce a first as we are aware in youth football by giving away shirt sponsorship to a charity on their 2012/13 2000s change kit. Ben View Resource Centre in Dumbarton will be the proud beneficiaries on this tie up. Ben View provides older people's care services in terms of a lunch club with transport provided, community bathing service for older people in their own homes and in day care centres plus much much more.
Scott Banks, one of the 2000s age group coaches said: "The club have worked with Ben View in the past in our 2011 Football Festival and wanted to give something back to the community. It's normally adults helping children out, but in the case we have bucked the trend by not only giving away sponsorship space on our kit to promote the centre but also giving the club's kids, parents and volunteers an appreciation of the hard work that is put in by the charity! Its a win win situation in our books."
Dumbarton Riverside FC run organised and developmental football teams from age groups 2007-1999 in the DFDL within the West Dunbartonshire area and have recently started a disability team. Club coach Alastair Bateman was also recently awarded West Dunbartonshire's Community Coach of the year.
