Wolves edge out Thistle for final spot
Wolves BC vs Blair Thistle
Under 16s Central Regional Cup

Wolves BC had been on a sensational run in 2011, winning every single game they've played. However a semi-final of the Central Regional Cup against Blair Thistle represented one of their toughest tests on paper. Bent Road Parks in Hamilton was the venue, as both sides vied for a place in the final.

It looked like the tie had been put out of site within twenty minutes as Wolves got off to the best possible start. Dean Roy opened the scoring and Samir Khan Young found the back of the net twice.

However, Blair Thistle worked their way back into the game. Scott MacPherson was the sinner as a spot kick was awarded and duly dispatched. Another goal for Thistle meant it was game on at 3-2.

Both teams had their chances in the closing stages and Thistle nearly managed to force extra-time, but the Wolves defence held firm to secure progression to the cup final.

Cambusnethan Talbot BC await in the final, which shall take place on Thursday 19th May at Ochilview, home of Stenhousemuir FC. Talbot started the season slowly but have won their last nine, including taking care of much fancied Kilsyth Athletic in last week's semi final.
