Burgh White win Yett again
East Kilbride Burgh United White u/15's held onto their top spot in the Lanarkshire Football Devlopment Association 'A' league with a 6-1 away win to Yett Farm. The boys were playing at the impressive new Regional Sports Centre at Ravenscraig. The young Burgh team went into the game disappointed at exiting the Scottish Cup the previous week when they lost to Scottish Champions for the past two years Tynecastle FC. Any worries of a hangover were soon dispelled when they went one up within two minutes when an inch perfect cross was met by the head of Euan Whittingham who finished calmly.

The Burgh were to go two up within five minutes when Scott Matthews volleyed home another great cross. This whirlwind start seemed to knock the stuffing out of the home team and it was all one way traffic towards the Yett Farm goal. Matthews was to make it three with his second when he finished of a good passing move. The first half was not to finish though before Sam Alves who had been causing the opposition defence a number of problems scored.

The second half was to start the same as the first with all the pressure on the Yett Farm defence. A mixture of good defending and bad finishing kept the score at four until half way through the second period when Alves out muscled the central defender to coolly slot the ball past the keeper. Yett Farm were to pull a goal back when their big centre forward who had worked tirelessly all game got a reward for his efforts when he took advantage of some bad defending. The Burgh though were to have the last say when Alves was two claim his second league hat trick in a row.

This Friday sees two of the young East Kilbride boys defender Josh McCormack and midfielder Conor Gahagan represent the Central Region against the South West region
