With both teams getting off to good starts yesterday in Dundee whitewashing Keith 9-0 and Albion shocking local rivals Aberdeen 4-1 this had the possibility to be the top of the league clash.

Albion were refreshed just 15 hours after knocking out the Dons but Dundee were just too strong for the Aberdeen side winning 3-2 which guarantees them through to Thursday's Semi Finals.

Last season's Scottish Cup winners had the first chance in the fourth minute when Devin Kennedy-Colbert's corner was headed goal wards by Macaulay Rae which was blocked by Jordan Garden and it came to Ray Gordon whose volley went straight at Cameron Johnstone.

But it was Dundee who were to draw first blood when they took the lead in the twelfth minute when Jamie McCabe's long ball found Jordan Garden who found his way past 2 Albion defenders before calmly placing it into the top right hand corner.

There was not a lot of action after that with Albion once again giving top flight opponents a hard time, there was some good play created by Albion when Ray Gordon sent in a pass to Darren Sinclair but the forward couldn't get his shot away after a block from Matthew Allan.

The pressure told off for Albion as they got themselves an equaliser shortly after when Chris Liversedge sent a ball in from the left wing which went all the way to Devin Kennedy-Colbert on the other side whose volley hit the post and went to Michael Gunn who netted the rebound.

Dundee had another decent chance to go into half time with a lead when Josh Skelly's throw-in found Christopher Snee who put in a wonderful left hand sided ball for Craig Wighton but his volley went over the bar.

The Taysiders had another chance as we started the second half when Callum Petrie's pass found Kieran Sturrock whose 20 yard effort was saved by Nico Berton.
Dundee huffed and puffed and they managed to blow the Albion defence out again when they went 2-1 up when Jamie McCabe's ball found Jordan Garden and Garden placed it past Berton in the Albion goal.

Albion were quick to react and they got an equaliser when Harry Milne's pass found Chris Liversedge on the left wing whose effort was too hot to handle for Cameron Johnstone.

Darren Sinclair was then released through after Craig Simpson's pass found Ray Gordon who put it into the feet of the forward but it was knocked just whiskers wide of the right hand post.

Dundee had a great chance to take the lead again with eight minutes to go when Ben Seivwright's deadly free kick was deflected out for a corner kick, from the resulting corner kick the right back whipped in a good ball to Kieran Sturrock but it was saved by Nico Berton.

Seivwright was the provider for Dundee's winning goal when his free kick from his own half was headed into the back of the net by the unmarked Jamie McCabe who knocked it past Berton.
