| MacAskill reflects on three in a row | |
David-Omar Reid of YFS will be bringing you a number of post season interviews from the North East. First up is three times SYFA Challenge Cup winner and former Dyce BC player Craig MacAskill (pictured, right). DR: Firstly Craig, how do you feel about winning the Green Final player of the year?
CM: Happy. It was a bit of a surprise but on the whole I'm happy!
DR: And congratulations on winning your third successive Scottish Cup, how does that feel?
CM: It's a great achievement and wasn't easy, but everyone in the team did their bit.
DR: You must have shocked quite a few people pulling that off?
CM: Yes, not a lot of teams have won the Scottish cup three times in a row so there was a bit of pressure on us this year.
DR: Your end of season form wasn't too great, were you still confident going into the final?
CM: We won on probably our worst form of the season after beating Erskine in the semi final but we're always confident and did well against Hutchison Vale on the day.
DR: You're currently playing for Keith Development at a number of age groups. How is that going?
CM: It's going very well. I mainly play for the 19s but I'm aiming to feature for the 21s next season.
DR: You've been linked with Deveronvale, can you give me the latest on that?
CM: I've actually been linked with a few clubs which has gave me a few options but I'm not sure which direction I'll be heading just yet.
DR: Your fellow players Scott Anderson and Daniel Tootill have signed for Deveronvale. Could that sway you?
CM: I'll have a think about all my options then I'll make my decision.
DR: Thanks Craig.
CM: No problem! |
