| Swifts striker reflects on successful campaign | |
Author: Kevin Hamilton It was an all out successful year for Hillfield Swifts, finishing 3rd and winning 2 trophies over rivals Cavalry Park. For one certain individual it was the season of his life, Jamie 'Jambo' Forrester, mistaken for a Hearts fan for his prestigious name which was feared in the SERYFL Under 19's league. Jamie stuck the ball in the net 43 times last this season, 7 of them being free kicks. When asked about his season and what the best game he had played was he told us, ''I'd say against Cavalry Park when they beat us in a semi final in extra time, played my best that game even though they won.'' The trophies that Jamie competed for, were the first he's ever won. Having played for Dunfermline and East Fife at pro youth he went on to tell us that he best season he has ever had was with Hillfield Swifts. When asked what his plans were for next season, having knocked back a move to a pro youth side. Jamie proceeded to say, ''I was hoping for a move back to pro youth this season but that looks like I won't happen, but I'm more than happy to spend another season with Hillfield Swifts as I really enjoyed last season.'' ![]() Jamie then went on to tell us about his best goal of the season of late, which came at a crucial time in the campaign and a crucial time in the game, a freekick. Driven high into the roof of the net in the dying seconds seeing Hillfield beating Dunedin. Throughout the season, Jamie went on to play for SYFA Combined Regions U19s select against a Mid Ulster XI, in an International Challenge Match. As previous winners Scotland came back with the shield after a 1-1 draw over in Northen Ireland. Jamie played a vital role in the Scotland teams fightback after going 1-0 down, setting up the final goal which saw Scotland retain the right to hold the shield. After a successful season, the team at YFS would like to wish Jamie congratulations on his achievements and good luck for his career ahead. |
