This game was eagerly anticipated after the weekend group games, with both sides determined to win the Final. A large crowd of locals and visitors had assembled and they were not to be disappointed with both teams going hard at it from the first whistle
There was a chance within the first ten minutes as Kelly in the Erskine goal spills a fierce shot. As a follow up Kennedy of West Park regains possession and flashes a shot across goal with no takers. A let- off for Erskine.
Shortly after, Kinnaird speeding into the box is up ended and a penalty awarded to Erskine. Verrecchia coolly slots home. 1-0 Erskine.
West Park tried to regain lost ground and were on the attack, Naismith’s effort fires into the side net.
On the 19th minute, West Park got their breakthrough. Naismith runs unmarked onto a through ball and buries his shot past Kelly from 12 yards. 1–1
Erskine replied with a low shot from Reidy which clips the post. They established themselves as leaders soon after with a corner for Erskine chipped in by Kinnaird. Verrecchia directed a header through a sea of bodies into the net. 2–1 Erskine.
After 25 minutes the game eventually settles down and credit to both teams who despite the hard and greasy surface, were both now playing good attractive football.

Early into the second half and Kinnaird was sent through on goal and from the edge of the penalty box places the ball past the advancing keeper giving Erskine a 2 goal lead.
Minutes later the ball is cleared from a corner kick for Erskine and from 20 yards out Kane unleashes an unstoppable left foot volley into the top corner. 4–1 Erskine.
Hardly time to catch breath and Erskine on the attack again. Kinnaird is through on goal and calmly fires home from 10 yards. 5-1 Erskine.
The game then falls flat with half an hour left. Despite the scoreline West park are not yet finished.
West Parks` Kerr connected well with a header from a corner only to see Orr of Erskine clear his goal bound attempt off the line. Another West Park effort goes begging as Erskine goalkeeper Kelly gets down low to save from Bell.
In the 75th minute, Erskine attack and Doherty cut in from the wing beating two players and angling in a shot from 12 yards to complete the scoring for the hosts. 6 -1 Erskine.
In the last minute of time West Park beat the offside trap and Bell steered the ball home at the back post for West Park. 6–2 Erskine. A well deserved consolation for West Park.

Three rapid goals in a six minute period early in the second half gave Erskine a lead they would comfortably protect. However, huge praise must go to West Park for playing great football on the night and remaining composed when on the receiving end of the six minute blitz.
