16-year-old attacking midfielder Alassan Jones has put pen to paper on a two-year professional deal with Dundee United.
The Swedish-born Edinburgh based prospect has been at Dundee United's youth academy since 2017 after signing from Edinburgh based side Tynecastle FC.
After signing his contract Jones said, "I have felt very welcome here and have already trained quite a few times with the first team which has excited me. I am delighted to sign my first professional contract with Dundee United."
Jones began his career at Edina Hibs and in his first year he won the Scottish Cup, captaining the side and scoring the opening goal, putting in a man of the match performance in the process.
The following year he was part of the Hibs side that fell at the fourth round of the cup, this time losing in agonizing fashion on penalties against the team they had beaten a year earlier in the final of the previous years competition, Rangers SABC.
He earned redemption however in his last year at Edina Hibs as his side beat Hutchison Vale in the final to secure his and the clubs second Scottish Cup in three years before moving to Tynecastle FC.
It was here that he won his third Scottish Cup, getting on the scoresheet in an incredible 7-1 victory over Lewis United Youth before signing a pro youth contract at Dundee United
He has been a constant feature on this website as well, with many a match reporter awarding him our 'Star Man' award.
Congratulations Alassan and we wish you the very best at Dundee United.
