Fixture: Longside BC v Peterhead BC U13's

Longside played host to local rivals Peterhead on Sunday in a tightly fought league fixture.
Both teams started well with chances at both ends, but it was Peterhead who broke the deadlock early on with a fine free kick from 20 yards out.
The visitors continued to press and quickly increased their lead after a corner wasn’t cleared properly and was punished by the Peterhead strikers.
Both teams are a great advert for ‘B’ league football and tried to play the ball around. However, Longside were punished again soon after with Peterhead pressing well to increase their lead to 3-0.
It was looking bleak for Longside as they struggled to make any clear cut chances with Peterhead keeper Gerrard in fine form.
Longside made the breakthrough late in the first half after Ross Michie was fouled in the box for a penalty which was saved by the Peterhead keeper but headed into the net after the rebound by in form Michie.
With half time approaching, Peterhead broke free and increased their advantage to 4-1 after great work from midfielder Buchan.

Longside, who struggled in the first half came out of the traps flying, and Michie fired in from close range to make it 4-2.
Some great football on show lead to more chances but the woodwork came to both teams rescue.
Peterhead were slow to clear their lines and Mathew Keith drilled the ball in from close range to make the last few minutes interesting.
After a closely fought contest, Peterhead deservedly ran out winners in a superb fixture.
