Locos go top after Albion victory

Written by

The top two sides in the ADJFA table met at Spain Park with Banks O’Dee Albion hosting Inverurie Locos. These sides were nip & tuck last season in the race for the A league championship.

Inverurie Locos made a good start to the game with high tempo and intensity. First goal came after about 5 minutes from a corner with Andy Watt getting his head to it which was parried by the Banks O’Dee Albion goalkeeper and Mark Duthie stuck it away.

Second came after about 15 min from a corner again, good movement and Lewis Duffy scored with a header on the 6 yard line.

The rest of first half was fairly even but Locos gave away a lot of free kicks just outside the box but didn't trouble Keller. BODA also got a penalty after Mark Duthie brought down their striker but Keller made a good save.

Second half was excellent from the start for Locos.  Great attitude from all and out worked, out played and out muscled them. Finlay Stalker scored from another corner early on, and then Lee McAllister scored after about 30 minutes, and Lewis Duffy got a second from edge of box with 5 minutes to go. Lewis Duffy, Lee McAllister, Mark Duthie, Finlay Stalker and Reece Brown probably the pick of the bunch but all round an excellent team performance.
