Two goals from Logan Duncan were enough for Thistle BC to come out on top against Dyce BC. This was a highly anticipated fixture with Dyce BC looking to put the pressure on the teams at the top whilst Thistle was looking to climb the table.
Thistle coach Jeremy Claire stated in his interview after the game that the initial expectation this season was to avoid relegation however they have surpassed that expectation already with Thistle going three points clear of Lewis United Youth in fourth and putting pressure on Westdyke, Dyce & Banks O’Dee Albion at the top. This was also Dyce’s first league defeat of the season.
The game started at a decent tempo and Logan Duncan had the ball in the back of the net after six minutes, however celebrations were cut short as the forward was deemed offside.
Duncan did put the hosts ahead after 10 minutes though after picking up the ball before taking it into the box and tucking the ball away past Daniel Neish in the Dyce goal. Great start to the game for Thistle.
Dyce came out the traps again and nearly got themselves level after 18 minutes. A ball from Callum Nicol found Jos McLaren who had a great chance with only Jamie Shingler to beat however the effort flashed wide.
In the 24th minute, Duncan was clean through on goal again for Thistle however the effort went straight to Neish. Thistle deserved their lead going into half time with Dyce struggling to get to grips with the game although they were dangerous on the ball. Thistle were good going forward and were organised at the back.
