Christmas came early for Elite FC duo Leon Etko and Connor Osprey as they were offered contracts at Dundee FC after a successful trial period with the club.
Both players have been at the club, which has only been running for two years, since 2016 and have benefited greatly from the youth development program at Elite FC.
In their announcement on Facebook, Elite FC said, "Very proud moment for both boys and their parents and for the club also. Our mission statement is to develop each player to progress to the highest level. Great compliment to the coaches and their program of development.

"Leon is one of the founder members of the club when we started in beginning of 2016. It’s been great watching him develop over the 2 years. Leon has always been a technically gifted player but what makes him stand out is his high work ethic. He always gives 100% and would run himself into the ground for the team.

"Connor joined the club end of 2016 from the B league. Like Leon, a very gifted player who can take players on in 1v1 situations. He had come on leaps and bounds since he’s been with us and we have improved his game by learning when to take on a player and when to make the simple pass.

"Everyone at the club wish both Leon & Connor all the best and to take this wonderful opportunity they have been given and give it their all. We are all very proud of you both."

Both players were part of the Elite FC squad that travelled to Denmark last summer to take part in the Dana Cup where they were finalists, the first Scottish team in the tournament's history to have done so.

Congratulations to both Leon and Connor and all of us at Youth Football Scotland wish you both the very best at Dundee FC.
