Donside Juvenile Under 13 girls are all set for their Scottish Cup quarter-final match against Central girls legends on Sunday lunchtime with a 12pm kick off. The Alford side are going well in the Kim Little and they are top of the respective league.
Neil Daniel’s side have beaten Colony Park in the preliminary round before a 9-0 victory over East Kilbride in the first round of the cup, a succession of home ties was to follow after that with an 8-1 win over Ayr United before a 6-0 win against Hearts in the last round.
Coach Daniel looked ahead to the game saying, “For us especially, our aim at the start of the season was the same as last season, which was if we had one home tie and one away tie it would be great because we are giving the girls an experience of travelling away to a new club somewhere in Scotland. And also a home tie so we could give our supporters behind us and I think we have been very lucky this year to have one away tie and three home ties.
“Now we have a bit of luck in getting our fourth home tie and we are hoping the journey continues, Central will be a good side, we have had a lot of good momentum going into this match and also throughout the season, we’ve had a lot of positive results and hopefully keep the momentum going.
“If we could get past this tie and into the semi-final it would be a dream, we didn’t expect to be here and we will try and perform our best on Sunday, the women’s game has been very positive in this region, we are all volunteers and have all helped the club grow.”
