Dyce BC Blues and Formartine United went head to head in an Under 13s Spree A league fixture with Dyce coming out on top comfortably and whilst Formartine will be hurting with the scoreline. They showed some good moments in the game against a stronger Dyce side.
The hosts threatened from the off. A good ball found Gafar Abari however his effort from a wide angle just went wide of the left hand post with Dyce showing their impetus early on to get their noses in front.
Blues took the lead on five minutes. Another good assist found Abari and this time the striker made no mistake finishing off a fine move past the advancing Jack Robertson from 16 yards out.
On eight minutes, it was 2-0. Another fine move from the hosts saw a good ball by Aidan Brookes found Dylan Shaw who knocked the ball into the back of the net from four yards out to give Dyce some comfort.
It took a while for Formartine to get into the game however United did threaten shortly after the goal. A cross from Branden Beaton found Finlay Brown who had a good effort on goal just wide of the left hand post.
Dyce played some smashing football towards the tail end of the first half and got themselves four goals in the final 12 minutes of the half. The first one arrived on 24 minutes when Owen Townend cut the ball back which was met by Shaw who got his second goal of the game slamming the ball past Robertson.
A minute later, it was 4-0. A Formartine clearance only went as far as Brookes whose effort from the edge of the box found it's way into the bottom left hand corner. Brookes deservedly getting a goal for putting in a good shift for the hosts.
It was 5-0 soon after a ball over the top of the Formartine backline resulted in a fifth goal for the hosts with Zane Lawson grabbing a goal with a good finish.
On 30 minutes, Formartine pulled a goal back, their forward line capitalised on a defensive mistake and Aarron Buckle guided the ball home into the low corner to make the score line a lot more respectable.
Lawson completed the scoring just before half time for Dyce after he got the ball and the forward finished well from the edge of the box.
