Deveronvale Community Football Club Under 13s are a team currently participating in the Spree ADJFA Under 13s B League and are currently in the race for promotion, Vale last week recieved new tracksuits which were supplied by Billy and Heather Beagrie which is to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The Banff side are having a good season on the park and are currently involved in an intense race with the battle for promotion to the A league hotting up.
Billy and Heather Beagrie decided to supply the tracksuits to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer after Billy's diagnosis in June 2018. Billy has since undergone an operation in October 2018 and Mr Beagrie got a fantastic early Christmas present by getting the all clear.
It is a fantastic gesture by Billy and Heather and Raymond Morrison, coach for Deveronvale Under 13s said, "As a team, we are delighted to try and raise awareness on this issue and give Billy all our best wishes in his recovery."
Billy Beagrie said the following, "I didn't know anything about it and didn't have any of the symptoms, so I decided to sponsor the boys and put a logo onto their tracksuits which will maybe bring awareness of prostate cancer if anybody looked at the tracksuits and also the boys as well.
"There isn't a lot of charities who are sponsoring football teams, the reason why I did it was the fact of giving something to the boys and even if it saved 1 person by seeing it then going to get it checked."
Youth Football Scotland joins Deveronvale Community Football Club Under 13s in wishing Billy all the very best in his recovery.
