It was a cloudy scene at Spain Park when CBC Hilton fresh from winning the league A play off against Colony Park took on Cove Rangers. With Rangers winning 2-0 the game looked over and done with however Hilton never fail to entertain anyone and put on an amazing comeback.

The game started at a frantic pace with Cove starting the better of the two and it saw Scott Davie have the ball in the net after 7 minutes however he fouled a Cornhill defender. Cove were to still dominate things though.

Davie was to test the Hilton defence once again as he met a great ball by Fergus Ewen however the lively striker put his effort just over the bar.

Hilton had their 1st chance of the game after a goal-kick from Fraser Hobday went all the way and found Nicol Christie who tried a looping shot over Stewart Milne in the Cove goal however it just went over.

Fraser Hobday was required in periods in the game to keep the scoreline at 0-0 and did so again with a tremendous save after a Max Berton through ball found Scott Davie however Davie saw his effort from 10 yards saved.

Cove were to take the lead and an outstanding strike to follow as well after a Max Berton 35 yard strike found it's way into the top left hand corner giving Hobday in the Hilton goal no chance.

Rangers had another chance before the interval after Ross Cochrane had played in Callum Bayfield however his 14 yard effort flashed over the bar. It was a good half for Cove and their expectation would have been to keep it up.

Half Time:
CBC Hilton 0-1 Cove Rangers

Cove started the brighter once again and went 2-0 up in the 50th minute after Ross Cochrane played in Scott Davie who took full responsibility by wonderfully tucking the ball away into the bottom left hand corner and at that stage in the game it looked like no way back for Hilton.

Hilton then nearly pulled one back after Scott Cowper sent a lovely ball into the box which was met by Mohammed Mbarki whose effort just went whiskers wide of the left hand post. CBC were to get better by that point.

The pressure then got to Cove and Hilton pulled one back, Cowper who assisted the last opportunity scored to potentially give Cornhill the great escape after a great ball was sent into the box from the right hand flank by Euan Roseweir.

As Cove tried to get a goal back to perhaps put the game to bed they had a golden chance to do so on 67 minutes after Ross Cochrane crossed in for Andy Smith whose half volley crashed off the crossbar and cleared to safety by the Hilton defence.

Scott Davie then tried to break the Hilton keyhole again however his effort went wide of the left hand post after a great ball by Fergus Ewen. These two chances were to be key for Hilton to get back into the contest as Coves luck seemed to run out.

The comeback by Hilton was complete on 72 minutes when Euan Roseweirs ball was put into the six yard area and Matthew Connell was able to pounce on Cove not clearing their lines by tapping the ball home.

Cornhill's pressure towards Cove continued after Mohammed Mbarki tried his luck from 12 yards which was saved by the big Cove goalkeeper Stewart Milne. Cornhills pressure was to count soon after though.

That's because Euan Roseweir got in on the act and completed the great escape aftter he recieved the ball and did the rest by placing the ball off the post and into the net from 18 yards finding it's way into the bottom left hand corner.

Scott Burnett then made sure the trophy was in CBC Hilton's hands after he curled an effort into the top right hand corner which sparked huge celebrations among the Hilton guys.
