Lewis United score first through Callum Mitchel, after he closed down a pass back to the Abernethy goalkeeper, which the keeper attempted to clear, however the ball hit Mitchell and flew into the back of the net, 1-0 to Lewis United.
Ten minutes later Abernethy were back into the match. The goal came from a throw in, which was then crossed to the front post, where the un-marked striker was waiting to slot the ball home, 1-1.
Lewis United then went ahead again, when an Aaron Leslie free kick was headed into their own net by an Abernethy player.

Neither side had any clear cut chances in the second half, however both sides played very nice football. Lewis United look to keep possession and play the ball about and see out the match.
However, with a minute remaining Abernethy equalised. The goal came from a corner, which was met by the head of a home player. Lewis United felt hard done by as they believe the referee wrongly called for a corner.

Ten minutes into extra time Lewis United were back in front after a clearance from the Abernethy keeper rebounded off Jamie Morrison and the ball rolled into the net.
Things were to get worse for Abernethy as they were reduced to ten men.
The home side were now desperate to get back into the match, so they now put three men up front, however this let Lewis United hit them on the counter attack and they furthered their lead through Scott Gray and Alan Oldroyd.
Abernethy were unable to come up with a reply and Lewis United saw the game out to book themselves a place in the quarter final.
