East Kilbride Gold faced a very tough, long trip North to Links Park in Montrose to face Montrose Youth in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup, with a place in the quarter finals at stake.
Despite a bright start from East Kilbride they fell behind after a poor clearance landed to the feet of a Montrose player, who's shot was deflected past Ben Macallister in the away goal.
Mitchell Craig was fouled in the box from a well flighted free kick taken from CJ Hughes, East Kilbride dispatched the penalty past the Montrose keeper, 1-1.

The second half began, with both sides matching each other evenly.
Until, a mistake at the back cost the visitors, when Montrose capitalised on this, restoring their lead, 2-1.
A change in personel and a change of formation saw the visitors begin to take control of the game and an equaliser came from a Jonny Wills header after a great cross from Paul Spencer.
The next goal was going to be crucial in determining who the victor would be as the game was drawing towards the last fifteen.
With ten minutes left and extra time looming East Kilbride took the lead for the first time in the game with a great through ball finding Kyle Caig, who finished very well from outside the box, sending the away team into jubilation.
With a couple of minutes left in the tie, Jack Mckenna jinked through the Montrose back four to finish the scoring and secure a wonderful victory for the away side, who will look forward to their quarter final tie.
