It was back to league and cup action last weekend with CAYFA and WoSYFL returning from the October break, firing on all fronts.
The result of the weekend came in the WoSYFL Age 13 Division, as Bonnyton Thistle ended Ayr Boswell’s 100% record with an emphatic 5-1 home win. Boswell now find themselves with their own perfect league record in third place. Elsewhere Glenburn are up to fourth after an 8-1 victory at Galston Youth, whilst Valspar also struck eight in an 8-3 home defeat of Auchinleck Talbot. Crosshouse BC are just behind after a narrow 2-1 win at Prestwick CFC and Dalrymple enjoyed a solid 2-0 home win over Troon Thistle. Caledonian Thistle meanwhile won a seven goal thriller, defeating Rowallan 4-3 at home.
Up in the WosYFL Age 16s Division One there were home wins for Coylton, 5-1 over Irvine Thistle, and for Galston who move up to third after their 4-1 defeat of Glenburn MW. The only Division Twp fixture saw Prestwick draw level on points with Glenafton with a convincing 4-1 home win.
Kilwinning Rangers look in control of the WoSYFL Age 19 division as they moved five points clear with an impressive 7-1 home win over third placed Girvan Youth. Glenburn moved up level on points with Girvan after their 3-1 victory at Glenafton Athletic. Troon FC meanwhile moved into second place with a 2-1 home win over Whitletts Victoria.
In the CAYFA Under 17 League, Girdle Toll took advantage of leaders Valspar’s free weekend to move three points behind with a thumping 5-0 win at fourth placed Cumnock 99s. Whitletts Victoria leapfrog Cumnock into third place after their 4-1 home victory over KSC Royals. Elsewhere KSC Phoenix continued their recent goalscoring form as they recorded an emphatic 9-0 home win over Glenburn MW. Bonnyton Thistle also racked up the goals with a fine 6-0 victory Argyle Villa. Elsewhere Irvine Meadow were convincing victors at home to bottom placed Bellfield Youth.
In the Under 15 Division One section KSC Rovers and Prestwick fought out a 10 goal thriller in a 5-5 draw, with visitors Prestwick equalising with the final kick of the ball. Crosshouse Boys Club Athletic meanwhile moved top with a 4-1 win at Valspar. Tass Thistle United had an excellent 5-3 home win over Glenburn MW, whilst Hurlford’s 3-2 win at Auchinleck Talbot moves them up to fourth in the table.
In CAYFA Under 15 Division Two Cumnock Juniors maintained their perfect start with a heavy victory at bottom placed Hurlford United. Bellfield Royals Stay top with more games played, after an impressive home victory to Crosshouse Boys Club 2001s. West Kilbride are up to third place after their 3-1 win at Caledonian Colts.
It was mainly League Cup weekend in the CAYFA Age 14 bracket, with league leaders AC Irvine enjoying a 5-1 success at Kilmarnock Portland. It took extra time and penalties to separate Caledonian United and Glenburn after a 1-1 draw. Eventually Glenburn booked their place in the next round winning 4-3 in the shoot out. KSC Kilwinning Thistle were 3-1 winners at Stewarton Annick, whilst Ayr Boswell Colts also won on the road, 3-1 at Crosshouse Boys Club 2002s. Galston Youth meanwhile triumphed 4-0 at home over Cumnock Juniors.
Finally in the only CAYFA Age 14 league fixture KSC Barca moved a point behind AC Irvine with a 4-0 win at second bottom placed Prestwick CFC.
