Antonine welcomed local rivals Blairdardie to a rain sodden Mountblow in the league. For the first time this season, Antonine had a full squad available for selection.
The game got underway, with Antonine starting on the front foot pushing their opponents back but without creating any real chances
Against the run of play, the first chance fell to the visitors. As a cross/shot was heading for the top corner but Andy Carroll in the Antonine goal, tipped the ball onto the crossbar, a great save from the keeper.
Antonine then began to take command of the game after this early scare, seeing a lot more possession of the ball and looking dangerous going forward.
Fraser James beat the offside trap, only to see his shot go wide of the target.
Then, Danny Hamilton's well struck free kick which looked to be net bound, was deflected wide of the target.
Boyle then had an effort blocked by the away keeper, very well down to his right and Blairdadie cleared the danger.
Half time arrived with the scoreline at 0-0. However, Antonine may have felt that they should have been a couple up by now. But, Blairdadie were unlucky not to have a goal as well.
Half Time: Antonine BC 0-0 Blairdadie
Antonine came flying out of the traps in the second half, after a rollicking at half time from their coach. They lifted the pace and tempo of their game. Passing was a lot more accurate and with more meaning.
Antonine went very close after a corner found Kelly at the back post, who was waiting to knock the ball home. But, his effort rebounded off the post.
Five minutes into the second half, a cross from Hamilton was met by a volley from Hutton, which flew into the back of the Blairdadie net.
A brilliantly worked move ended in James unleashing a magnificent volley, which flew just past the post. This very well could have been goal of the season contender if it flew past the correct side of the post after such good teamwork was met by an excellent strike.
However, minutes later James bagged himself a goal and his sides second after he slotted home from close range to put Antonine 2-0 up.
Blairdadie got themselves right back into the game, after a corner was awarded despite the protests of the Antonine players. From this, the Blairdadie striker finished from close range.
With fifeteen minutes remaining, Atonine extended their lead as Kelly was on hand to put the ball in from a rebound after a decent save from the Blairdadie keeper.
Hamilton then sealed the match after he went on a mazy run, down the right flank, cutting into the box, beforing firing the ball into the corner past the keeper.
Despite the amount of missed chances, this was a solid performance from the Antonine team.
Full Time: Antonine BC 4-1 Blairdadie
