Fixture: Eastwood Juveniles Red v Langcraigs FC Blue
Competition: U19's PJDYFL Division 2
After a convincing win last week Eastwood were looking for another crucial three points in this relegation crunch match against Langcraigs.
Euan Kyle was smartly off his line to hack clear as the Paisley visitors had the first attack of the game, before Craig Nicolson shot well wide after creating space for himself outside the box.
With the wind in their favour, two well delivered Darren Law free kicks were inches away from being headed in by Eastwood forwards, athough in between it took a superb fingertip save from Euan Kyle to keep his team on level terms, as he clawed away a close range header.
As usual Rhys Thomson was constantly getting on the ball to make things happen, and he was to link with Lewis Andrews to carve out the opening goal. It was top scorer Law, who was to race through and finish with a cool chipped finish over the keeper as he netted for the fouth successive game.
Just as they seemed set to go on and dominate this encounter, the home team were shocked by a visitors equaliser. A slack pass from David McCallum was see possession gained by the men in blue and despite Kyle getting fingers on the ensuing shot from just inside the box, the ball crept into the net.
McCallum was then desperately unlucky not to give his team the lead again, as he and Martin Lyttle pounced on an inswinging Law corner from the left, the ball agonisingly hitting the post and bouncing to safety.
The midfield guile of Andrews and Nicolson was ensuring complete control of this area as the first half drew to a close, with the home team again inches away from a superb goal just on half time.
Law held the ball up on the half way line before releasing Thomson, and then meeting the return ball with a side foot volley inches wide after his strike partner had carried the ball to the edge of the penalty box.

A sweeping team move that began with Michael Orsi on the left and ended with Law sending a cross come shot over from the angle of the box was to underline the home teams dominance as the second half started.
David Milton was in commanding form, as he and McCallum mopped up rare Langcraigs attacks with authority, indeed the home captain was hauled to the ground as he instigated a home attack which lead to a visitors booking.
Law was to waste a free kick that was well placed at the edge of the box, however his corner deliveries were much more threatening although the visitors backline deserved credit for staying strong under a constant barrage of home pressure.
A fine run on the right from Milton saw him whip in a superb cross that found no takers, and with even full backs Ian Cant and Martin Lyttle finding the time to power forward to the edge of the visitors box, a second goal looked likely to arrive at any time.
The skilful Josh Dowie had by now been replaced by Chris Naddell on the right, but it was from the left that the home team again came close to scoring. Nicolson cut in on his right foot, and his fierce shot was deflected inches past the upright by a visiting defender with Andrews waiting to pounce.
Langcraigs were still looking to hit on the counter with Kyle diving to his right to make a fine stop, but with Stewart Clarkson at the heart of the play the chances were continuing to come at the other end.
Clarkson himself unleashed a fierce shot that produced a superb parry from the keeper, before Law worked a one two with Thomson before lofting the ball over the keeper, and unfortunately for Eastwood the crossbar as well.
There was almost a sense of inevability that the Paisley team would break against the run of play and steal the points, and with just two minutes remaining they did just that. A slick pass through the middle sent the forward into the box, and he was able to slide a fine finish past Kyle to earn his team all three points.
