Dunoon Grammar School Girls U15's Vs Holyrood Secondary Girls U15s

Dunoon Grammar U15's showed superb grit on a sandy surface as they eased past Holyrood Secondary. Both teams played end to end football, but Clarisse Cairns showed that she was there to play as she netted four times to put Dunoon through in a 6 - 5 victory, putting them into the 2nd round. It was a team that was made up within 5 minutes, so credit goes to all those that took part.

Dunoon opened the scoring with Lucie Noakes scoring for Dunoon within 10 minutes. Then Clarisse Cairns doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Then Dunoon showed that it was their first game together as they allowed Hollyrood to score without a challenge.

Just before half-time Noakes struck the ball from a corner to Keith, who sliced the ball in for Courtney Cowden first to heading the ball then only for Courtney to follow up and pelt the ball into the net. Dunoon answered that with Clarisse Cairns running right through the middle and slotting the ball in the net.

Straight from the kick-off with Dunoon looking comfortable, but with some girls still learning the off-side rule they allowed Hollyrood back into the game.

3 minutes later Clarisse Cairns took the ball at her feet and rounded 3 Hollyrood defenders to slip the ball in the back off the net just on the stroke of half-time.

Straight from the 2nd half start Dunoon forced Hollyrood into their own half only for Cairns to net again. Dunoon kept up the pressure and scored again with Cairns yet again finding the net with a solo run for ner to find the net her 5th putting Dunoon in the lead with a cushion.Within the last minutes with Dunoon 6- 4 up, Hollyrood broke forward and found the net, making the last moments count. Dunoon held on to the one goal advandage as the final whistle loomed
