Port Glasgow BC
Arsenal BC
U21 Only Sport League Cup
It was Arsenal who opened the scoring in this cup tie at Parklea on Saturday afternoon, but the Port came straight back at them with plenty of good football being played and plenty of action in the Arsenal goal mouth. Paul Johnstone’s corner was eventually played back out wide to him and the resulting cross met the head of Christopher Black but the ball went over the bar.

The next set piece was lined up by the man of the match Ross Boyland. His free kick was met by Black again only this time he was on target and the score was levelled. Boyland was on top form and as the referee awarded another free kick from outside the box, he was on hand to assist Ross McLaughlin who headed home to put the Port 2-1 up going in at half time.
Half Time: Port Glasgow BC 2-1 Arsenal BC
In the second half Black added to his tally, after Ross McLaughlin and Andy McKimm fought well in the middle of the park to win the ball. It was another set piece that gave the Port their 4th and again Boyland swung in the corner which was well won by Steven McAfee on the wing, only to see Ross McLaughlin's shot deflected out by the goalkeeper, but he was on guard to tap the rebound into the back of the net.

Arsenal seemed to come back into the game and made Jordan pull off some great saves in goal for the Port. It was an exciting end to the game as Arsenal scored twice, but they ultimately paid for a slow start to the second half.
