The youth of Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic met on a chilly Thursday evening in the latest instalment of the Glasgow Cup. Neither team had been defeated in the group stage as yet with Rangers winning all four matches and Celtic winning four and drawing one. The Hoops sat joint top of the group, alongside Queens Park.

Rangers got off to the perfect start, taking a 9th minute lead. Ryan Hardie, who had came close with an early header, was quickly out of the traps to latch onto a through ball and finish with composure.
On the half hour mark, the hosts doubled their advantage. Daniel Stoney hit a well placed shot, which Celtic goalkeeper McCabe couldn't keep out.

Rangers were able to hold their two goal lead in tact until the break.

With just over ten minutes played in the second half, Celtic found a route back into the match. Liam Henderson fired an excellent strike into the top corner, making the score 2-1.

It looked as though the Gers would hold on for maximum points, but in the 84th minute the visitors levelled. Paul McMullan was the man who pulled the finish out the back, taking the scoreline to 2-2.

A late sending off saw Rangers finish the game a man light, but neither team could find a winning goal, ensuring a share of the spoils.
