Rossvale started the match better than Harmony Row with some good early interchange of passing between Bradley Nicklin, Andrew Davidson, Aiden Wisely, Alan Dunsmore and Jack Crumlish.

It took 3 minutes for Rossvale to create their first opportunity on goal when an Aiden Wisely shot from the edge of the penalty area narrowly clearing the crossbar.

Rossvale were on the front foot from this point and created another clear opportunity 7 minutes later when the Harmony Row keeper had to be at his best to make a good save from Bradley Nicklin after being set up by Paul King just inside the penalty area.

Kieran Allison was looking assured upon his return to the Rossvale team alongside Ryan Kane and Daniel Crawley in the Rossvale defence seldom being threatened in the early stages.

With 20 minutes on the clock Cameron Ralston had the Harmony Row keeper scrambling along his line after he got on the end of a Paul King flick on only to see his shot finish just wide of the post.

Paul King thought he had broken the deadlock 8 minutes later when his curling right foot shot from outside the left hand side of the penalty area had the Harmony keeper beat only to see it rebound off the crossbar.

The breakthrough finally came in the 36th minute of a pulsating half when a Paul King corner from the left hand side was curled in over the Harmony keeper and into the far corner of the net.

This seemed to spark Harmony into life and the Rossvale lead was nullified 3 minutes later just on the stroke of half time when a long range effort beat the Rossvale keeper and finished high in the net.

Half Time: Harmony Row 1-1 Rossvale Thistle

The second half started evenly balanced with both teams playing some good football but with only half chances being created.

Rossvale gained the lead for a second time in the 11th minute of the second half as a result of a fine passing combination which started with Paul King from a central position who played it to Bradley Nicklin on the right hand side. Bradley then played a neat 1-2 with Cameron Ralston on the edge of the Harmony penalty area before riffling his left foot shot under the Harmony keeper.

The Rossvale lead was extended to two 6 minutes later. A Jack Crumlish corner from the left hand side was only partially cleared to outside the opposite side of the penalty area. Paul King was first to react, his first touch took him away from a Harmony defender and his second touch was to deliver a cross to the unmarked Craig Cassidy who had come on at half time. Craig's downward header was too much for the Harmony keeper despite his efforts.

Rossvale were comfortable at this point however the match was set up for a grandstand finish with 2 minutes to go.

Harmony Row were awarded a freekick 23 yards from the Rossvale goal. The resulting freekick not only beat the Rossvale wall but also the outstretched Stephen Roy.

Harmony were now in the ascendency pushing for an equalizer and were denied in the last minute by Stephen Roy who palmed the ball over the bar as a result of a header from a corner.

Rossvale managed to ride out the storm to hold on to their lead.
