Fisher and Burns add to talent moving on from SYFA West side

Written by
SYFA West's 1999 born squad has seen two more players to move into the pro youth ranks with St Peters BC midfielder Louis Fisher moving to Motherwell and his clubmate Fraser Burns joining St Mirren. The players moving up comes hot on the heels of keeper Ryan Millar of Tass Thistle joining Kilmarnock and St Peters striker Adam Greenlees going to Motherwell.
SYFA West 99's Development Squad head coach Iain King said:
"There is always a tinge of regret when you lose the chance to work with gifted players but I'm delighted for both Louis and Fraser.
"Fraser is a player who sparkled both in the trials this year and in the one friendly game we have played to date. I felt he would be a mainstay for us.
"In Louis' case I had made him captain for this season because he has been such a pleasure to coach over the last two seasons.
"He was at the heart of the squad that won the Denmark Cup (pictured below) and had a terrific tournament in Copenhagen making the holding midfield position his own."
After that triumph in Denmark West players Scott Simpson of Milngavie Wanderers and Tass right-back Jack Frew joined Motherwell with jet-paced winger Andy Dallas of Busby BC signing for Rangers.
Now SEVEN West players have moved to major clubs as the new-look squad faces up to this season's Inter-Regional Cup challenge and the Donosti Cup in San Sebastian this summer.
