Campsie travelled to Johnstone to take on Johnstone Burgh in a league game that on paper looked to be a tough encounter, but it turned out the opposite.

Campsie started brightly knocking the ball about well and keeping possesion and had a few early chances but could not make any break through.

Jordan Mcguire had a great long range effort on the 12 minute mark when he tried to chip the keeper from 20 yds but the ball hit the bar.

It took Campsie until the 16th minute to make the break through when Aitken made a great pass through to Ryan Murney who made no mistake and stuck it away to open the scoring 0-1.

Two minutes later there was a fine individual goal from the Captain Nicky Prentice who picked ther ball up about 25 yards from goal and beat 3 of the Johnston players and smashed the ball into the corner of the net 0-2.

Campsie were now well in control of the game and were making chance after chance and on the half hour mark were awarded a corner , this was swung in by Nicky Prentice and was met by the incoming defender Jamie Hamill who headered the ball into the net to make the score 0-3.

The Campsie team were now coming forward time after time with every player adding their own  touches of skill and it was Left back Gerry O`connell who sent a great pass through to Steven Aitken who`s control was first class and he burst into the box only to shoot wide withn his weaker foot.
Johnston Burgh were now showing signs of a disillusioned team, and when their Captain took a throw in which landed straight at the feet of Campsie`s  big striker Aitken  who made no mistake to take the score to 0-4 on the 37th minute it looked as if Campsie were going to go forward and rack up a few more before the end of the game.
The first half came to an end which did not suit Campsie as they were playing some lovely one touch football.
Half Time: Johnstone Burgh 0-4 Campsie Black Watch
The second half was much the same as the first although Johnston Burgh did have a couple of chances that kept the Campsie keeper awake but try as they might they failed to score as did Campsie in the second half which meant the final score was a 0-4  win for Campsie.
