A strong driving wind would dictate how this game would be played out.

Arsenal started with the strong wind in their favour, opting to test the EK Keeper Ross Calder with the long ball game. The first 15 minutes would be Arsenal forcing long balls into the box, with many corners and a high amount of possesion, Calder was producing many crucial saves.

However EK were intent on playing the ball on the deck with the wind against and this led to the first goal. The ball being played out from defence to then find Scott Gillespie wide on the left. His weighted cut back found Ross Bryden on the edge of the box and a sweet half volley flew into the back of the net, his 22nd of the season.

This settled EK. Craig Tocher sprinted away from the Arsenal defence producing a good save from the Arsenal keeper. However he couldn't hold it, Bryden was there for the tap in to make it 2-0.

EK continued to have their greater share of the ball and a third followed, a fine individual goal by James Murphy. He went on a run, beating two Arsenal defenders, before lofting the ball over the Arsenal keeper.

Half Time: Arsenal BC 0-3 EKFC

The second half saw the wind having die down a little and Arsenal came out of the traps intent on getting back into the game. It wasn't long before that happened a ball breaking to the Arsenal midfielder who placed the ball beyond the EK keeper.

Arsenal then again had periods of possesion but without testing the EK defence.

Tocher had a great chance to finish the game off with a one on one with the advancing Arsenal keeper. Unfortunately for him the keeper produced a good save to keep the score at 3-1.

Arsenal then went up the park and scored a second. It was backs to the wall for EK then until the end of the game with Arsenal having plenty of the ball but without really testing the EK keeper.

EK replied during this period with some long drives from Murphy, Gillespie and Scott Young but in the end EKFC managed to hold out for the win. A fine game played in good spirits with some great football on display.
