Milngavie Wanderers had a special guest popping along to their training at Boclair Academy on Monday 17th September in the form of Rangers goalkeepr Steve Simonsen.
Steve stays in the nearby Bearsden Travel Lodge when in Scotland and when asked by Milngavie goalkeeping coach Joey Muir via Twitter if he would be interested in coming along to work with our keeper, he was more than happy to oblige.
He put our keeper, Ross Fisher, West Region and Scotland National team number one as well as a dyed in the wool Rangers fan, through his paces with a number of drills he has used over his long career which has included stints in the Barclays Premier League with Everton and Stoke.
He also took time to hold a brief question and answer session with the rest of the squad where we discovered he is in the habit of signing autographs to the name John Bishop owing to us resemblance to the Scouse comedian.  An absolute gentleman all round and was a pleasure to have him for the evening.  He is welcome back anytime.
