Glasgow's Townhead Lucozade Powerleague are in full swing with this week's Easter Camp and are looking forward to it with the facility having just had half a million spent on it updating the pitches, changing room, bar and even the front entrance to give a good impression from the outset.
The Easter camp runs from Monday to Friday, 10am till 3pm. It is for primary age children and is a great thing to get involved in as the new pitches up at the Powerleague are as good as any in the West of Scotland, not only will their be top class pitches but their will be top qualified coaches coming in to take the sessions.
Powerleague in Glasgow has a great reputation for having good quality football played at it. One of the five a side teams who take part in one of many of their five a side leagues won the World Cup and are going to represent Scotland in Dubai, this is all thanks to playing down at their local Powerleague.
I got the chance to catch up with somebody who has not long started being involved with the Powerleague in Townhead Andy Wallace who became the Assistant Manager just after new year and is excited about all the change at the facilities, I asked him what he thought about the Easter Camp:
"I have done some coaching myself in the past and the kids who come along are getting the very best, a event like this is a benchmark for their year falling when it does its a great event to show the way we want to conduct ourselfs here at Powerleague, it's great to get parents and kids all down and getting involved as that's something we are trying to build on more here, I would love to see more girls get involved in the camp as well as we do get a decent amount of young boys but getting more girls down would be great."
