Erskine BC
Under-15 PJDYFL Div 2

Both teams set up 3-5-2 and a busy middle of the park meant the game started slow & scrappy with both team not really causing each other any problems but it was Maryhill who made the break through a a slide rule ball sent Reegan clear but the ball ran away from his trusty left foot across him he pulled the trigger on his right unleashing a 20 yards shot over the keeper into the net.
That seemed to settle Maryhill & Paddy had a shot from distance stopped by the keeper, but the warning signs were there as Erskine had the ball in the net only to be judged offside. A similar cross ball to the back post gave Erskine the equaliser as jack came to punch he missed the ball leaving the Erskine striker to tap in.
Maryhill went behind almost immediately as a bit of indecision by Ants gave away a throw in deep in Maryhill half & a long throw into the box was poorly defended by Maryhill who couldn't clear their lines & again the Erskine forward finished low under the keeper to put the visitors ahead.
Maryhill pushed forward looking for the equaliser & a succession of corners eventually brought it, a deadly inswinging corner from Reegan saw Kalvin rise highest amongst challenges to power home the first of 2 headers.
With the first half coming to a close it was Erkine who scored again, a soft free kick awarded just  outside the Maryhill box was fired in on goal but again a soft 2 handed palm away by the Maryhill keeper feel to the feet of an Erskine player who finished to give Erskine the lead just on half time.
Half Time: Maryhill 2-3 Erskine BC
Maryhill dominated the start of the 2nd half without creating any clear cut chances, but a piece of brilliance by paddy turning & getting his shot off caught everyone by surprise especially the Erskine keeper who could only parry the ball up into the air & Kalvin put his head in where the keeper fists where to bravely head home the equaliser for the 2nd time in the game.
The play was still all Maryhill's but Erskine had another chance as their number 7 drove into the right hand side of the box cutting the ball ball when the shot looked on & the Maryhill defence cleared, Maryhill's number 11 Kalvin was denied what looked and sounded like a stone wall penalty as he knocked the ball by the keeper who clipped him send him crashing to the floor but the referee waved play on then cometh the hour cometh the man as Maryhill grabbed the winner, a corner was thrown into the back post & a shot from Maryhill's big john rattled off the post up into the air and a quick adjustment of feet by paddy saw him volley a looping shot high over everyone into the back of the net to the loud roar of the home fans.
Erskine had the last chance of the game as they pushed to try save their title challenge  but a superb double save from jack made sure Maryhill took all 3 points & extend their lead to 6 points with 2 games left.
Full Time: Maryhill 4-3 Erskine BC
