PGBC 13's 4 Stamperland 2
Port welcomed Stamperland to Parklea on Saturday morning.
With the game barely started Port saw Josh Patton break up play before passing to Ryan Phillips, Ryan turned before sending the ball through to Declan Adair but his shot went just past the post. Declan didn't have to wait long to get on the scoresheet, Brandon McCabe sent a free kick into the box and after a poor clearance Declan was on hand to send a good strike past the keeper from the edge of the box. Port doubled their lead when Ryan Phillips cut the ball back for David Curley who made no mistake in putting it in the net. Port then fell asleep and on a rare attack Stamperland got the ball in the box where despite two Port defenders sliding in the Stamperland strikers shot deflected off a Port leg and left Lewis McClure stranded in the box goal. Ryan Phillips picked the ball in the centre circle and sent a great switch wide right to Declan Adair who in turn made a good run before getting the shot away to get his second of the game.
Port came out in the second half looking to put the game to bed. Plenty of chances fell Port's way. A good pass from Brandon McCabe saw Scott Marshall see his shot come back off the post. Brandon McCabe then sent a good corner into the box where Scott Marshall again saw the ball hit the woodwork, this time off the bar and the ball seemed to bounce over the line but the referee said no. Scott Marshall again had a good shot at goal but this time the Stamperland keeper pulled off a good save and after collecting the spills Jack Andersons shot was again save by the Stamperland keeper. Port did manage to get another goal after a long ball over the top by Curtys Footitt was met by Ryan Phillips who controlled well before chipping the ball over the Stamperland keeper. Port again fell asleep to let Stamperland score, this time a free kick saw the striker one on one with Dimitris Cameron who had no chance to save the resulting shot.
Referees Man of the Match (joint) - Ryan Phillips/David Curley
Thanks to our sponsor INVERWELD for continued support.

PGBC 13's 2 St Peters 3
Taking a break from league duty, Port welcomed 1st division side St Peters to Parklea for a West Region Cup tie on Saturday morning.
In a tough start to the game Port battled well against the team two leagues above them. St Peters did draw first blood with a good strike across Port keeper Lewis McClure from the edge of the box. St Peters kept pressing Port hard but Lewis McClure was on fine form pulling off some great saves. Port's chances were limited in the first half but they kept working hard for each other and just before half time they had keeper Lewis McClure to thank again pulling off a great stop.
In the second half Port came into the game a lot more. Jack Anderson got onto the end of a great pass from Brandon McCabe but as he got to the box the St Peters defender got his tackle in at the right time. Another good run from Jack found his himself in space, he skipped past two defenders but found himself brought down inside the box to win Port a penalty. Up stepped Declan Adair who made no mistake in leaving the keeper no chance. The goal seemed to spur Port on and helped them grow in confidence. A good run Brandon McCabe saw him brought down about 25 yards out, up stepped Declan Adair again who sent his free kick over the wall and straight into the net. St Peters hit straight back with a great free kick of their own leaving the in-form Lewis McClure stranded. Port had Lewis to thank again when he saved well as he was left one on one.
Another fine save from Lewis ended bad for Port as a St Peters forward was first to react to score from the spills.
This was a great performance from every boy. They should take great pride in their performance and look to carry the same attitude into the league.

Captain Colin secures victory for Port Glasgow once again
PGBC 21s 3 St Peters 1
In this fantastic team performance the Port boys took on a St Peters side that are 2 divisions above them, and ensured they went through to the next round of the Lady Darling Cup. As usual Robbie was fantastic in goal when he had to be and bar the penalty kick awarded to St Peters he was always going to keep them out. The defence were solid throughout and the work rate of the midfield was fantastic, with ref's motm being awarded to Ryan McGarrity for the effort he put in. Goals from Ross McLaughlin and Darren Patton added to their seasons tally but it was Colin Stevenson showing off again with his free kick perfection to ensure the Port went ahead and stayed ahead. Tam, Paul and John are very pleased with the effort and team spirit of recent weeks and hope this continues. The boys are pictured with their new strip, and wish to thank Gillian for her efforts in getting this sponsorship for them; they also want to say a massive thank you to Mr David Gunn of The Square Greenock for the support.

In this hearty match at Parklea there were goals galore, the spectators had plenty to watch as the boys battled it out on the park. It was the Port however who came out on top, a fantastic performance from Adam Hannah ensured a hat trick and the referee’s man of the match award, with Young Mark Ross adding another 4 to his seasons tally and Sam Pollock also getting one.

A goal from Darryn Robertson and an OG gave the Port a share of the spoils on Saturday under their new maangement. Referee’s man of the match was Jack McGrogan.

Glenvale Red 1 PGBC 13's 4
Port travelled to Ferguslie Sports Centre in Paisley on Saturday morning to face Glenvale.
In a pretty quiet first half Port never really looked troubled, but failed themselves to take their chances. That was until a throw in from Brandon McCabe was controlled by Scott Marshall who then played Ryan Phillips clear, Ryan cut inside before sending a great strike over the Glenvale keeper. Declan Adair was unlucky not to double Port's lead when a great left footed strike came back off the post.
In a much busier second half Port started to find their shooting boots. Jack Anderson scored with a shot across the keeper from the edge of the box with his weaker right foot to put Port further ahead. Jack then turned provider when his corner into the box found Declan Adair to score with a good strike. Glenvale managed to pull one back straight from kick off as they ran straight through catching Port sleeping. Brandon McCabe had a shot from the edge of the box, but the Glenvale keeper managed to get a strong hand on the ball and send it wide. David Curley picked the ball up in midfield and sent a great pass wide to Declan Adair who cut inside before unleashing a great shot across the keeper and into the bottom corner. With the game coming to a close a ball into the box saw Ross McKay's header come back off the post. Glenvale picked the ball up and went straight on the counter attack but found Shaun Grierson on hand to pull off a great last gasp tackle.
Referee's Man of the Match - Brandon McCabe.

Today saw the port host St Andrews at home in an early kick off, with 3 games left of the season and no win in 5 the port fielded an experimental side, with most of the boys playing out of their natural position. The port started the game well but as in recent weeks were soon behind with St Andrews first attack of the game, credit to the boys they continued to try and play their own game and managed to create a few chances in between a hand full of goals for St Andrews.
The second half started with the port on the front foot again and this time they got the break through with a rare goal from peter Ingram, with the ports tails up and Marc McDonald linking the attack with midfield well marc was to supply the through ball for young Niall Brady to score. The port had a few more chances to reduce the deficit but it was St Andrews who were to sneak another goal or two before wee Lyle MacDonald finished off the scoring for the port.
Credit to the boys they kept trying and no one can fault their enthusiasm and effort today.
Thanks to Marcus Humphrey for their continued support.

This week the boys travelled to Ferguslie to on Barrhead wasps. With Barrhead getting the match underway the boys went on the attack immediately with Emerson winning the ball and going close with a run and shot within the first minute. This set the tone for the remainder of the half. With McLaughlin pressing the defence high inside their own half and a great work rate from Emerson and Creen on both wings with Weston in the centre, the boys created chance after chance. Keeping the keeper busy but perhaps snatching a little trying to find the opener. At the other end Scott and Baxter along with McDougall ever alert and dealt with anything Barrhead put together. With half time coming McBride and McPhee were introduced to the match. The boys didn't have to wait long in the second half to take the lead. With McLaughlin in attack a fine shot seen him lob the keeper from outside the box the boys kicking on from here in fine style and right away McLaughlin added another to increase the lead. At the other end Barrhead earning a free kick a good ball whipped in to the port box the striker getting up to dispatch a header pulling a goal back for the home side. The boys not letting this affect their game and went right back to work increasing their lead in fantastic style. An attacking move and a shot by McLaughlin right into the top corner leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. The boys making up for missed chances in first half by being ruthless in the second. A port attack and attempted clearance by Barrhead sat up nicely for Emerson to unleash a ferocious volley into the top corner. With the boys still hungry to add to their tally Creen robbed the midfielder to go one on one with the keeper and slot a cool finish home before a great driving run from midfield and fine side foot finish from Weston seen the scoring end for the day. The boys ended the game in great style. Once again every boy playing their part on the day, with a confidence from the goalkeeper right throughout the team, playing some great football both as individuals and as a team. Goalscorers: McLaughlin, Emerson, Creen, Weston. Coaches thank B. Buick and sons (Bodyshop) for sponsorship.
PGBC 2005s
A few boys played Grieve Rd on Saturday at Parklea and were unlucky to lose out, they faced a side a year above them and played some very nice football. Hattrick hero Sean Tosh kept his side in the game with Reece Farrell and Devlin Anderson both ensuring the play went well in the middle of the park. The Ports motm had to be Paul McGachy though who played well in every position he was asked to play and constantly encouraged his team.
Then on Sunday 3 teams played at Notre Dame and continued to work in their teams passing and moving the ball to create chances and some quality football for the parents who came along to watch. Young Charlie Seggie is coming on in leaps and bounds and was fantastic for his team.
The 2005s are moving on in next few weeks to play 7-a-side and require goalkeepers, any boy born in 2005 and wishing a trial in goal call Gillian on 07534-230282 or come along to Parklea on a Wed night at 6pm.

On Saturday morning some of the boys were put to the test against an older side at Parklea, unfortunately they lost out but did score a few goals in the 2nd half, a fine bit of teamwork ensured John Rodgers got in on goal and a perfect saw him smash the back of the net. Young Aaron Kelly came on in defence for the Port and played really well, his strong tackling and defending saved the Port a few times. Reece Farrell and Devlin Anderson are improving every week, they are both learning to play as part of a team and with their hard work rate and desire to win they spur the team on. Well done boys.
On Saturday 2 teams arrived at Notre Dame, they each played a few games and they won the majority of these, the boys are determined to improve and some of the passing moves were outstanding. Keep up the good work boys.

The boys entertained Park Moor BC at Parklea this weekend in what turned out to be a real battle of a match. The Port boys getting the match under way making their intentions clear taking the game straight to park moor having some good early possession. As the half went on both sets of boys having a share of the ball with chances at either end and individual battles in all areas of the park. Then a Port move down the left hand side a direct run by Emerson who cut the ball inside to Weston who wins a 50/50 to slot a ball through to McGlaughlin in attack his touch and turn taking the defender out and a shot slotted past the advancing Park Moor keeper. A great team goal to take a deserved lead. The remainder of the half saw chances come and go for both teams with Scott and McPhee solid at the back strong in the challenge and McDougall on hand to pull off a few fantastic stops to make sure the boys led going into the break. A change at half time saw Baxter introduced for McPhee at the back. As the second half kicked of the port boys came right out the traps in fantastic style. With Park Moor kicking off McLaughlin robbed the striker of the ball to go straight at park moor winning two 50/50 challenges in the middle of the park to continue his run and slot a fine strike under the park moor keeper to increase the boys lead. A fantastic solo effort which only encouraged the team as a whole. After the goal the port boys had a great spell of pressure with Emerson Weston and Creen holding a high line to support both McLaughlin and McBride in attack park moor were struggling to get out their own half. The boys creating numerous good chances keeping the keeper busy. The remainder of the half saw Park Moor come back into the game carving out a few good chances of their own but with the Baxter and Scott sticking to their task superbly and the midfield working hard to get back along with McDougall having an absolute blinder in goal they failed to get on the score sheet. In the end the port boys running out deserved winners. Both sets of boys making a great game to watch in what really was horrendous weather conditions. The coaches delighted with the application and desire from all boys on the day. Goalscorer: McLaughlin.

PGBC 2001s 2 Broomfield BC 1
Looking to put last weeks early exit from the cup, Port welcomed local rivals Broomhill to Parklea for the first derby of the season.
The game started with both teams really up for it. Both teams had a few chances but kept each other at bay until a mix up in the Port defence saw Broomhill capitalise and take the lead. Port pushed hard looking to equalise but found the Broomhill keeper in fine form. Port did get the equaliser after a two corners from Brandon McCabe into the box saw the Broomhill pull off some fine saves from the resulting shots, then corner number three was cleared only as far as Sean O'Donnell on the edge of the box who took one touch to control the ball before unleashing a strike high into the roof of the net. Port went looking for more before half time but again the Broomhill keeper was on hand.
The second half was just as action packed as the first with both teams trying to get in front. Both keepers and defences were holding out well until Port's Ryan Phillips was sent clear, he took the ball in his stride and just as he entered the box he was pulled down by the Broomhill centre half to win Port a penalty. Up stepped Declan Adair, who showed great composure, striking the ball high and out of reach of the in-form Broomhill ‘keeper. Port then dug deep giving a great defensive performance to hold onto the win.

Stewarton Annick 0 Port 21s 3
The Port got off to a great start after a great ball from Liam McColgan to Ross McLaughlin who finished superbly. The boys kept battling away with some excellent football being played. Then a brilliant 25 yard free kick from Colin Stevenson made it 2. At the start of the 2nd half Stewarton pressed but couldn't get passed the in form Robbie Graham. Then Stewarton got awarded a dodgy penalty but yet again Robbie saved and probably changed the game in the Ports favour. Late on in the game the new free kick taker Colin Stevenson done it again with another great finish to put the game to bed. The attitude and commitment of the 21s is getting better every week. Scorers Colin Stevenson (2) Ross McLaughlin, Refs Man of match Robbie Graham

On Saturday the Port took on Glenvale back at Parklea. The port started the game well but were unfortunate to concede with a quick counter attack by Glenvale, goals from Raymond Keyes and Marc McDonald had the port back in front but it was Glenvale who were to finish the first half in front. The second half Glenvale started the better of the two teams and were further in front straight from the kick off, a Sean Doherty goal gave the port some hope before Glenvale grabbed another goal.
Looking down and out the boys showed great character to somehow grab the game by the scuff off the neck and start the come-back, Kyle Fuller scoring a double, his second a thunderous header from a Peter Ingram corner, Peter Ingram was to score with a great strike across goal, unfortunately the port ran out of time to grab what would have been a deserved equalizer and should consider themselves very unlucky not to take something from the game.

On Saturday the boys braved the weather at Parklea to play against each other and then on Sunday 10 boys turned up at Notre Dame and played as 2 separate teams. Within team 1 there was Reece, Charlie, Calum, Aaron and Devlin, with Daniel Colin keeping them right they played some good passes and scored some fantastic goals, Young Aaron Kelly with a particularly spectacular one. Team 2 also worked really well and with Sean T, Logan, Joseph, Kyle and Patrick moving the ball they served up a treat for all spectators. Keep up the good work boys.

The Port boys travelled to Ferguslie park this week to take on Bridge of Weir United in an early morning fixture. With the Port goalkeeper McDougall out due to illness, McPhee was brought in from defence to play in goal meaning a shuffle of positions throughout the team. As the game kicked of Bridge of Weir started the brighter of the two teams with the port looking a little disjointed due to the positions change. As the half went on the port boys battled away but it was bridge of weir who took the lead. The remainder of the first half saw bridge of weir add another couple of goals to take what looked like a comfortable lead into half time. With the port boys looking unsettled throughout the first half a change of positions came at half time. As the second half kicked of the boys started a lot brighter having some early pressure keeping bridge of weir pinned back. The midfield trio of Emerson Weston and Creen getting more reward for their hard work in the middle of the park seeing the port pull a deserved goal back. A fine strike by Creen across the keeper’s goal into the bottom corner. This acting like a shot in the arm for the boys who kicked on from here and it wasn't long before they had another back. A tremendous solo run from Weston and a fine strike dispatched leaving the opposition keeper stranded. With Scott and Baxter working hard at the back dealing with bridge of weir attacks and McGlauglin and McBride pressing the ball well up front the boys were working hard to get the equaliser. In the end just running out of time and unlucky not to get more out of this match. A game of two halves indeed with the boys doing well against good opposition given the circumstances. The coaches really pleased with the way the boys brought it back in the second half. Credit to all boys working hard on the day and extra credit for McPhee for his performance in goal. Another game in which the boys will take a lot out of. Goalscorers: Creen, Weston.

Switching their attention to cup duty, Port travelled to Clydebank to compete in the Winton Murdoch Cup.
In a really even first half plenty of chances fell to both teams. Clydebank did take the lead when they played the ball well through the left and a shot across the Port keeper. Port had many chances in the first half although shots straight at the keeper and past the post saw Clydebank take their lead into half time.
With the rain starting to get heavier the second half got under way.
Clydebank went further ahead after a quick break and switch of play saw Port lost. Port then fell asleep again to let Clydebank stretch their advantage to 3-0. With nothing to lose Port changed their formation to 3-4-3 and went for the game. Straight away good play saw Declan Adair set up Scott Marshall where he made no mistake in pulling on back. Port keeper Dimitris Cameron kept Port in it with a fine diving save and on the counter attack Declan Adair cut inside but found his shot to hit the bar. Ross McKay found himself one on one with the out coming keeper and he won a good 50/50 tackle and the ball fell kindly to Ryan Phillips to slot the ball home. Port kept pressing hard but time wasn't on their side as the referee blew the final whistle.

Glenhead Park was bathed in sun this Sunday when Drumchapel Amateurs hosted Dunoon. It was the away side who kicked us off and forced Drumchapel all the way back, keeping pressure on the home side without stop.
Drumchapel found some space though, when the Dunoon defence lacked conviction in dealing with a loose deflection. Dean Mowatt was chasing it down and forced Kevin Cameron to come out and claim it.
Drummy had a long free kick and Bradley Sinclair aimed squarely for the head of Kyle Crawford, who was outmuscled by Dunoon’s Adam Walker.
Drumchapel began to make progress slowly, patient football leading to an early cross by Craig Fisher who found Dean Mowatt. Who somehow managed to sneak his shot by the two defenders attempting to block. In the end though, Cameron once again kept his clean sheet alive.
Drumchapel started to play their football, getting Alan Kelly into space out on the right. He took a touch to set the ball and went for a long range finish but Cameron saw it wide calmly.
The play wouldn’t go Dunoon’s way for long though, as Drummy came at them once again; this time Kelly cross was too high for the Drummy boys in the box. It was Calum Mcdonald who collected the ball for Drumchapel only to win a free kick in a dangerous area.
The game was pretty tight and back and forward at this stage, with Dunoon dominating in the air and Drummy getting more joy with their passing on the ground. After the free kick yielded nothing but a corner that went nowhere Frazer Chalmers’ long shy took Dunoon forward.
Paddy McKenzie got his head on to it, only for his effort to be blocked. It was Liam Malloy who came alive with a rocket of a shot that curled just too high.
Dunoon get a corner and come close again this time with Craig Callander swinging it onto the head of McKenzie who was denied by a deflection.
The Dunoon defence moved to far to support the corner and Mowatt drifted into the gap out wide before playing in Kerr Hunter. Hunter was set to test Cameron but in slid Jack Wilson to deny the Drummy striker.
Mowatt again collected this time from a quick shy, before playing in Hunter. But the Dunoon defence were on fire, this time the right back Jamie Strapp slid in to deny the Drumchapel side any joy.
Play bounced back and forward and each team seemed to lack that one killer pass, but Mowatt fired another shot he had no right to attempt – squeezing it through a tight angle. It looked promising until Cameron leapt up to punch it away.
Dunoon took control with some beautiful play, flowing from side to side and front to back. They tested every aspect of the Drummy defence, which stood firm under the pressure. The play resulted in a corner and as the defence organised Connor Mcillkeny came short to collect.
Out came a defender who he casually sidestepped before going for the far post at a tight angle, Joseph Wilton was caught in a bad position but it’s a testament to the goalie that he managed to push it up and back, just too high for the strikers to head. It was a very close call for Durmchapel, who were reminded the danger of switching off even for a moment against such quality opposition.
Fisher collected for Drumchapel out on the left from a switch, he opened up his body perfectly and let loose looking for the top corner. But Cameron wasn’t giving up his clean sheet and Fisher only found his gloves.
Dunoon were looking great at this point, the passing was coming naturally and every tackle seemed to go their way. Drumchapel were not looking weak by any stretch of the imagination though, momentum was swinging between the two sides rapidly.
Jamie Strapp pushed forward on the right, beating three Drumchapel players on his way towards goal. His attempted cross was mishit and tipped onto the post, giving Joseph Wilton a scare between the sticks.
Kelly found himself half a yard on the right and looked for a cross but instead played it back to Fisher who has a go from the wing. He caught Cameron by surprise but the goalkeeper’s fingertips were enough to brush it over the bar this time.
Dunoon answered back with Strapp and Mcillkenny showing some great quick one touch passes between them on the right. They tried everything to get space, but four defenders surrounded the duo and saw it out.
McIllkenny again caused trouble, this time managing to get 1v1 with Wilton. HE ran onto a nice through ball but a moment of hesitation against Wilton meant the angle was closed down for his low shot expertly.
At half time the score was 0-0 and both sides were fighting for everything. Dunoon had dominated sections of the game as had Drumchapel. The stage looked set for a player to prove themselves with a moment of brilliance and it seemed like there were many players who could provide it.
Half Time: Drumchapel Amateurs 0-0 Dunoon YFL
The second half started and the tackles were flying.
Straight away Dunoon had a free kick 20 yards from goal at the feet of Craig Callander. An amazing strike curled right round the wall and looked unstoppable heading into the bottom corner. But Joseph Wilton was down quick with strong hands to keep it out.
Drumchapel won a freekick at the halfway line and only Sinclair was switched on. He wanted and received an early switch, but his tantalising cross remained unchallenged much to his frustration.
Drummy play a ball into Fisher’s feet on the left wing and his lovie dummy leaves Strapp for dead, but the ball across is cut off by a back-tracking Callander.
Drumchapel won a corner and the ball in fell a yard or two from goal. Everyone threw themselves at it and it’s a chaotic scramble but Dunoon somehow survive the scare and see it out for another corner.
Drumchapel really upped the pressure, with corner after corner testing the visitors. Every delivery that Sinclair has put in asked questions of Dunoon that remained unanswered.
The 3rd corner proved too much for Dunoon as Sinclair’s curving cross to the back was attacked by at least 6 different players. But in the end it was Kerr Hunter who rose fantastically to head it into the bottom corner to make it 1-0 Drumchapel on the 57th minute.
Dunoon looked rattled and Drummy looked hungry for more off the restart, two close chances almost sealed the game but Dunoon struck back 11 minutes later.
Frazer Chalmers did well to push forward from the midfield, driving up the centre – but the real star of the move was the goal scorer. Mcillkenny’s run was a thing of beauty. Moving out wide to get onside and give himself more room before running back inside onto the perfect through ball which put him 1v1 with Wilton.
This time he found the corner with distinction, curling it out of Wilton’s reach to put things level. On 66 minutes Frazer Chalmers made the match everyone’s game at 1-1.
The game was neck and neck for the remaining half an hour. Both sides scrapping for every ball. The atmosphere changed as the minutes ticked by, each side growing more and more frustrated as the defences held firm.
Dunoon came close 10 minutes from time, Strapp looking for Mcillkenny, but a bit of luck meant the ball bounced to Chalmers who was one on one with Wilton. Chalmers shot high but Wilton was just tall enough to get his hand behind it, the shot slowed enough that he was able to claim the bounce and keep things level in this tense battle.
The final test came on the 87th minute. Craig Fisher found space on the left and blitzed past two Dunoon defenders. He made it to the corner but his cross was denied by Adam Walker’s slide before it made it to the feet of Crawford.
The play continued at a frantic and furious pace, but the ref blew the whistle and the game finished 1-1.

The visitors would go on to record another win against a professional club's youth setup, coming out 3-0 victors against a club who were on a huge high after the first team knocked Celtic FC out of the League Cup a couple of nights previous.
Both sides showed that they did have real quality through out the match playing some brilliant passing football and using the width of the pitch to ping long balls into feet and runners. The first clear cut chance came when Redouane Aouchet dragged his shot just wide of the goal.
Edusport continued to pass their way into the home teams box and it nearly paid off when Yanis Lamghari showed great vision to pick out Antoine Lerbert in the box but the young Frenchman couldn't get the ball out from under his feet to finish the move off.
![]()
The marvelous football continued and finally it paid off for Edusport when Florian Moulet's cut-back was tapped home with ease by Lamghari, who lost his marker in the box.
Just before the break Morton had a chance to pull one back when Jordan Cairnie raced clear of the defenders and showed great composure to chip the keeper. However, to his disbelief his attempt hit the post and rolled out. The half ended soon afterwards with the French side one up but still all to play for in this friendly match.
Half Time: Greenock Morton Dvelopment 0-1 Edusport Academy
Not long into the second half Edusport doubled their lead in the game when Anthony Blain showed blistering pace to burst into the box. He then picked his head up and passed across goal to Nabil Hakkar who tapped home.
![]()
Shortly after Morton were awarded a penalty and a chance to get back into the match but Anthony Bal saved brilliantly from David McNeil's penalty. It was a well struck spot kick but the goalkeeper came to the rescue of the visitors.
Edusport made the home team pay for that penalty miss when they then went on to quickly add a third goal to their tally. It came from a fantastic passing move between the midfield which lead to striker Clement Payerne smashing home.
Morton had a chance to sneak a goal right on the full time whistle when they were awarded a free kick right on the edge of the box but Cammy O'Neil's attempt was curled just over the bar meaning the match finished 3-0 to Edusport Academy.
Another excellent win against strong Scottish opposition for the French outfit, with a clean sheet to add to the positives.

Promising times ahead for Old Firm Alliance Academy
Written by Forde McGhee
Author: Forde McGhee
One of the biggest problems in Scottish football is Sectarianism - it has been for a number of years now. The problem doesn't just exist in the professional game between the two big sides Celtic FC and Rangers FC, it is very easy to find Sectarianism in Scottish grassroots football. I am sure if you asked a lot of young boys and girls if the knew the meaning of Sectarianism they could tell you it straight away from either hearing about incidents or seeing them first hand.
In the East End of Glasgow a new academy has been started to try and kick Sectarianism out of the grassroots game. It hopes to bring young players together and try to show them that it doesn't matter whether you are a different religion or you support a different team - everyone is human and you can get on. The Old Firm Alliance Academy was set up in early 2013 to try and bring young players together and get them to see that just because you wear a different football top doesn't mean you are any different. They currently run two teams at the moment, playing in the Under 15 and Under 16 age groups of the Glasgow & District YFL, but have put the wheels in motion to try and start up another four with the long term vision to have all ages from mini kickers to Under 21's.

Kenny Highlands, who previously coached with Rangers, is now on board with the Academy. He said: "It is always something something I've dreamed about doing since I started coaching in the early 90s. If I was being honest, I never thought it would work. The boys wear Rangers kits one week then Celtic the following week, and are enjoying being part of it."
Since the club was formed such a short time ago it has came on leaps and bounds. Charlie Miller, formerly of Rangers, provides coaching on a weekly basis. Alert Goalkeeping, as a sponsor, provide the goalkeepers with training and specially made goalkeeping gloves.
The academy are also waiting to hear back from both Celtic and Rangers about activity and are heavily involved with Strathclyde Police who have praised the project, and the fact that it promotes unity between the two clubs.
Highlands said: "It is our hope to try and build an academy in the East End for the teams to train and play on along with trying to bring in more players and better the ones we have. Even at this early stage it is important to get our name out there and try to build up a reputation in the community."

A gutsy performance saw the boys from Glasgow edge a feisty East vs West affair. Despite a slow start, two goals in the second half were enough to take Rossvale FC into the second round.
Rossvale entered into the match with seven key players missing, and their absence was evident as early as the first minute; Tranent Juniors struck the bar following a header from a throw in.
Six minutes later and this time the header did go between the posts, with Jack Kennedy the goalscorer. Rossvale had started slowly and Tranent punished their hosts clinically.
The next few minutes saw the visitors asking all the right questions, and pressing for a second goal but Rossvale managed to hold on to keep the score line at 1-0.
A crunching tackle by Ryan Smith in the 29th minute typified the boys from East Lothian's passion in the early stages of the game. A free header in the 32nd minute went narrowly wide and was Kennedy again, looking to increase his and Tranent's tally.
The half ended with Rossvale beginning to string passes together and create openings, coming back into the game.
Half Time: Rossvale FC 0-1 Tranent Juniors
The second half saw Rossvale come out of the blocks in a sprint. A quick counter attack in the 49th minute saw Sean McCall go on a mazy run, beat two defenders and cut the ball back to Conor Clarke for a tap in. The game was level and the outcome was back in the balance.
Rossvale came alive and were first to every ball, a totally different team to the one in the first half. Eight minutes later they reaped the rewards. Glen Stokes scored a stunning volley, reacting brilliantly and putting his team ahead.
A late flurry of activity from Tranent proved futile as Rossvale packed bodies in front of the goal and looked to pounce on the counter.
The home side countered to great effect five minutes from time and were awarded a penalty. Clarke stepped up and blasted the ball low and hard to the right of Alex Valenzuela, who somehow managed to parry it. A fantastic save.
The miss did not amount to much as the referee blew the whistle. Game over. Rosevale FC progress to the second round, where they will visit Glasgow neighbours Arsenal BC.

Milngavie Wanderers coasted into the third round of the Scottish Cup with an emphatic win over Parkmoor BC of Erskine. They brushed aside their Paisley & District counterparts in what was a far more comfortable result than the previous round against Pollok. Five goals from Joe Slee, another hat-trick for Bailey Williams and braces from Kalvin Warren and Alberto Vezza along with one each from Ben jenkins and Kyle Campbell saw the Wanderers emerge as decisive winners.
It took all of two minutes for Milngavie to go ahead when a good passing move culminated with Nathan Carmichael bursting free in the box and although his shot was well saved by the keeper at full stretch, Bailey Williams was on hand to tap home the rebound. Kalvin Warren then drilled low into the net for 2-0 a minute later before some slack defending and poor communication gifted Parkmoor a route back into the game. A poor pass back towards the keeper caused havoc in the back line and the ball broke to the visiting striker to score into the empty net.
A bad way to concede their first competitive goal of the season but Wanderers responded well and redoubled their lead only five minutes after conceding when Warren burst forward and thread the ball through for Joe Slee - his shot was saved but Warren rifled home on the follow up. Slee didn't have to wait long to get on the score sheet himself though, picking Rory McInnes' long ball forward out of the air and turning the defender with one sublime touch before hammering his shot high into the net for 4-1.
He made it 5-1 on 20 minutes, brilliantly finishing an indirect free kick in the box after the goalkeeper had picked up a back pass. Parkmoor's day went from bad to worse when they were reduced to ten men but unfortunately for them there was more to come. Slee rounded off his hat-trick on 29 minutes when Josh Shovlin's ball forward was deflected into his path and he lashed the ball into the top corner with his left foot before Ben Jenkin's mis-hit sneaked past the keeper to end the scoring for the first half.
Half time: Milngavie Wanderers 7–1 Parkmoor BC
When Joe Slee got his fourth and Milngavie's eighth only two minutes after the restart with a deflected effort then another flood of goals looked inevitable but it didn't materialise straight away. Substitute Scott Hutton curled a good effort just wide of the post after 51 minutes before Alberto Vezza showed great skill to turn two defenders before seeing his shot well tipped over by the keeper.
The aforementioned flood of goals eventually arrived on 57 minutes and saw Milngavie find the net 6 times in 10 minutes. It started when a long ball forward found Vezza running after it and he unselfishly rolled it across the box to Slee to tap into the empty net. Substitute Kyle Campbell then sent a superb cross-come- shot into the net with a first time effort from the right hand side before Bailey Williams went one better and curled in a superb free kick at the near post from the side of the box.
Effectively straight from the resulting centre from Parkmoor, Vezza found himself on the edge of the box with the ball and he jinked past his man before curling it into the far corner. Williams then rounded off his hat-trick with a fine solo effort, beating a number of players on a purposeful charge up the park before finishing with aplomb.
The scoring was finally concluded 13 minutes from time when Duncan Nicolson played a great through ball to the onrushing Alberto Vezza who finished coolly.
Nicolson almost got a goal for himself right at the death but he curled his effort inches wide of the post and James Logan's effort when through on goal was held by the keeper in the final minutes before the referee blew for full time to confirm Milngavie Wanderer's progression into the third round of the Scottish Cup.

Finnart Star U14s secured their place in the third round of the SYFA Challenge Cup with a 2-0 victory over Hampden BC. Kieran Carey and Connor McKenzie both scored in the last minutes of each half to seal the victory for Finnart. Hampden gave a great account of themselves in which was a tight match at Glasgow Green.
It was a fine morning at Glasgow Green for the SYFA Challenge Cup tie between Finnart Star and Hampden BC. Both teams were looking to seal their place in the next round of Scotland’s most prestigious youth competition. Finnart began brightly winning a few corners in a row but the Hampden defence held firm and kept the game at 0-0. Six minutes in Finnart midfielder Eoghon Kenny struck a thunderous drive from twenty-five yards out but it was well saved by Hampden Goalkeeper Stephen Kirwan. A few minutes later the ball found its way through the Hampden defence to Finnart Striker Kieran Carey who was unlucky in his attempt to round Kirwan, but it was a great stop by the keeper who also managed to clear. After twenty minutes tricky Finnart striker Jamie McGowan danced away from the defence and managed to force a shot which went well wide. Finnart had dominated the opening stages with a number of chances created, they would have felt hard done by having not broken the deadlock but the Hampden defence had held firm doing very well not to concede. On twenty-five minutes it was then Hampden’s turn to attack, strong midfielder Liam Gallagher went on a powerful from his own half earning a free kick on the edge of the Finnart box. Hampden number ten Paul Waddell struck the free kick which forced a wonderful save from Goalkeeper Bailey McGuire. Five minutes later Hampden central midfielder Brandon Wu forced a corner, it was wiped in with pace to the back post by full back Laurie McCabe and it fell to the back post for centre back Ross Davie who was unlucky to see his effort rise above the bar. On the stroke of half time the high pressure by Finnart was rewarded as they won the ball at the edge of the box, it was then slid through to Carey who made no mistake and slotted home. 1-0! Hampden found themselves down at half time but probably deserved to be level at the break after some wonderful defensive play. Half time: Finnart Star 1 – 0 Hampden BC Five minutes into the second half the ball was slid through to Finnart winger William Gray whose wonderful effort was saved by an on form Kirwan in goals. Seven minutes later Finnart Central Midfielder Kenneth Crampsie launched a strong effort from twenty yards out and again Kirwan saved well. Sixty minutes in Cameron McHarg of Hampden saw his stunning thirty yard free kick just skim the bar, it almost looked a certainty to go in. Three minutes from time Finnart found themselves two goals up. After great one-two by Connor McKenzie and Eoghon Kenny, McKenzie’s cross-cum-shot found its way into the right hand corner of the Hampden net. 2-0! Finnart still had time to launch one last attack; McKenzie unleashed a powerful shot from the left flank which was bound for goal but Kirwan showed his class in goals once again with a wonderful save. So, after a great match Finnart Star earned their place in the third round of the SYFA Challenge Cup after a closely fought contest with Hampden BC. Credit to both teams who were equally competitive throughout the match.

Vale breach Antonine wall in thrilling cup tie

In a compelling first round Scottish Youth FA cup replay at Mountblow , Vale of Clyde eventually found a gap in Antonine’s defensive wall to win the tie by the narrowest of margins. John Paul Murphy’s strike mid-way through the second half was the only goal that separated the teams which left Antonine’s coach John Miller, rueing their missed chances.
The home team opened by winning a corner in the second minute which set the pattern for the early part of the game as they sought to gain control. Both teams were trying to settle to an early rhythm with contrasting styles of play. Antonine opted to probe the Clyde defence with long balls with midfielder David Brannagan prominent, moving between midfield and pushing forward, as the home team pressed.
Alert to the danger of conceding territory Vale’s captain Joe Bradley assumed a deeper role in an attempt to break the early dominance won by the Dalmuir team.
Antonine won a series of corners from which no clear cut chances emerged as they mounted attacks on the Vale’s defence. This was proving to be a hard fought physical encounter and when Gavin Miller was brought down forty yards out Antonine applied further pressure from the ensuing corner but once again the Vale’s rearguard held firm and cleared the danger.
The Vale’s rare forages into Antonine’s goal area usually involved Dylan Hendry’s darting runs fed from the controlled play of Bradley.
David Brannagan saw a twenty five yard effort just off target on the twenty minute mark while a counter attack saw Vale’s Hendry brought down but the free kick from thirty five yards sailed high.
On the half hour mark it was beginning to look as if Antonine’s constant pressing would pay off as Ryan Kerr just failed to make contact when the ball rebounded from goalkeeper Darren McNeil and this was quickly followed by a Kerr header ending up just past the left hand post as Antonine anticipated opening their account.
This activity round the Vale’s goalmouth was quickly followed by Graham McKay releasing Kerr through the middle that left him clear on his own but the keeper was quick off his line to block Antonine’s best chance of scoring.
On forty minutes Bradley took a heavy challenge for which he received treatment and as the first half came to a close there were signs that Antonine’s stranglehold on the game was loosening as twice in quick succession Vale of Clyde showed some purpose as they moved forward. First from a throw-in on the left Darren Simpson saw a low flashing shot move sharply just wide of Sean Gibbons right hand post, then this was followed by a low ball across the face of the home goal that asked to be put into the net.
The first forty five minutes ended with Antonine’s territorial superiority missing that all-important first goal breakthrough.
Half Time: Antonine BC 0 - 0 Vale of Clyde
A light drizzle descended from the Kilpatrick hills as the sides’ started the second half bringing with it a change in the balance of possession as the Vale of Clyde set about asserting more authority on the game. This was evident when central defender Andrew Sharp was given free rein to run unimpeded into the heart of the Antonine defence where he combined well with Hendry and Gavin Miller, another sign that the away team were in a more forceful frame of mind. Clyde were now pressing more as their play going forward became more inventive with Bradley being pivotal to the play-making. The increased forward movement resulted in a good move between Hendry and Paul Hewitt but the final shot was cleared.
Antonine countered with a forty yard run by Miller then Cameron Harkins was brought down twenty yards from the Vale’s goal. Graham McKay saw his free kick strike the wall before Brannagan shot the rebound over the bar from the edge of the box.
On the hour mark Kerr dispossessed Sharp and found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat but the chance was lost as the shot went wide. This was a real let-off for the Vale.
Determined to maintain their second half impetus Vale then made a double substitution which seemed to have an immediate galvanising effect on the team. Christopher Phee was quickly involved in some good defending and going forward with purpose and direction.
The game was opening up as Antonine’s Gregor Cree crossed and Kerr just failed to make contact in front of Vale’s goal but within a minute of this escape the visitors took the lead. A good move through the middle involved Stephen Peat and Bradley as they combined to release John Paul Murphy into the box where his low shot found the net. It had been coming.
The team from the East End of Glasgow were now in control but Antonine were still dangerous in attack and in the seventieth minute David Tolland was released down the right flank only to see his cross headed high by Miller.
As the game entered its latter stages play was swinging from end to end and in the eightieth minute Antonine’s Cameron Harkins sent Miller through where he was stopped by a strong challenge from the Vale defence.
With five minutes remaining Gavin Miller won a corner in a duel with Jay Stevenson. The resulting cross was touched on for another corner by the goalkeeper before the Vale defenders cleared their lines. With both teams challenging for everything, the final minute saw a shot from Stewart McLure skid low past Antonine’s left hand upright.
After the final whistle, John Martin said, ‘It was a good tight game but you have to take your chances’.
A relieved Vale of Clyde’s Peter Philips commented that ‘these were two hard fought contests’ while paying compliments to the Antonine team and said he expected the two further league games to be just as competitive.

Third Lanark hosted Argyle Athletic looking to continue their unbeaten league campaign following wins against Kingspark United and Drumchapel Amateurs for the HiHi's. The host's had most of the possesion in the game barely allowing Argyle out their own half for spells and ran out fairly comfortable winners to add a vital 3 points on what looks to be a very competitive Glasgow and District division 2.
The first hal was all Third Lanark with the away team having only one shot at goal in the whole forty five minutes. The first chance of the game came when Qaasims Ali's perfectly flighted corner was met at the back most by the rising Ross Greening who guided his header just over the bar.
Argyle were frustrating the home team with their defending in numbers but the Thirds still pushed to try and sneak a goal before half time and had a chance to when another great corner from Ali was this time headed over by the teams top scorer Baboucarr Sowe who had looked a threat in the first half.
Both sides went in at half time knowing that they would need to improve if they wanted to take anything from the game, Thirds were overcrowding Argyles half in the last ten minutes of the half but there end product was poor in what was to be fair a very lack luster first half.
Half Time: Third Lanark 0-0 Argyle Athletic
The second half started off in a far more higher tempo but again the same story Argyle being pressed deep into their own half by a very offensive Third Lanark side who were so close to breaking the dead lock when a long punt from their keeper realsed Baboucarr Sowe who raced through on goal but smashed his volley over the bar.
Soon after the Thirds finnaly broke the deadlock when playmaker Qaasim Ali threaded a through ball into the feet of his skipper Ryan Carmichael who slotted home with ease.
Argyle looked to try and sneak an equaliser when James McCallum done well to beat his marker and blast a shot goalwards but his attempt fizzled just past the post, straight from the resulting goal kick the home team added another when great link up play from strikers Baboucarr Sowe and Jamie McKay resulted in Sowe smashing the ball past the Argyle goalkeeper.
Third Lanark continued to pile on the pressure in the last twenty minutes with several well worked attacks but no end product to match. The third goal of the game for Third's was finally added though when Luke Pye smashed a free kick from 25 yards out which was helped goalbound by an Argyle players head.
Another freekick from 25 yards out was to be taken by the Thirds this time the player hitting it was goal machine Baboucarr Sowe who's effort looked to be curling in but was tipped just wide by the Argyle goalkeeper.
Just before the end of the game the home side managed to add another to their tally and in fine fashion when Qaasim Ali used his brian to take a short corner to Ryan Carmichael who fired first time across goal into the bottom right hand corner and send the Thirds back to the changing room 4-0 victors.
