Blantyre Soccer Academy hit East Kilbride Colts U13 for nine at Brancumhall Park

It was a cold, damp and windy morning at Brancumhall Park as East Kilbride Colts welcomed Blantyre Soccer Academy in a game that looked to show the ability of both teams.

Blantyre kicked off and looked to cause some early problems for the home side, and they did as on the three minute mark, Fynn McIntosh would run through on goal and slot it into the bottom corner to give his side an early advantage.

Blantyre would continue to create chances and in the 16th minute, they would double their advantage, this time it was the captain. Alfie Linder-Kelly took the ball round the goalkeeper and tapped home for 2-0!

Just five minutes later and it was 3-0, a corner swung into the box came off an East Kilbride Colts defender and unfortunately found the bottom corner. Blantyre would then go up the park again just a minute later, this time Alexander Talent running through on goal and finishing calmly for 4-0. The goals would keep coming for Blantyre as only three minutes after the fourth, John Louden was played a fantastic ball over the top and tapped underneath the keeper. Half time at Brancumhall and it was Blantyre with a five goal advantage.

The second half began and it was East Kilbride Colts who started the second half with some good link up play in the midfield which led to a shot wide by Euan Smith!

However Blantyre would eventually come back into the game as on the 39th minute mark, Fynn McIntosh grabbed his second of the morning as he ran through on goal again and scored with a tidy finish to make the score 6-0 to Blantyre Soccer Academy!

Blantyre would just keep going as only two minutes later, they had a seventh as substitute Niall Hamlyn would hit the ball low and hard past the goalkeeper to continue punishing East Kilbride Colts.

However on the 64th minute, East Kilbride would finally get a moment to celebrate, a corner that was swung in low found Euan Smith to tap it home and get one back for the home side. A moment that had been coming after a strong second half performance even though they had struggled to keep Blantyre away.

However Blantyre would just keep going, as only three minutes after the gap had shortened to six,  was back to seven as Fynn McIntosh would hit a looping effort from the edge of the box that would find the bottom corner and he secured his hattrick on the day.

Blantyre weren’t done there though as with three minutes left to play, Alfie Lindner-Kelly would stay onside and chip the goalkeeper for 9-1!

And that’s how it would finish, East Kilbride Colts put up a strong fight throughout but couldn’t stop the pace of Blantyre Soccer Academy who picked up all three points on the day!

Nathan Philip Asemoh was strong in the midfield for his side and looked a threat when on the ball!

In a game where Colts looked outmatched by their opponents, the never gave up and battled through the conditions and the unrelenting pressure from Blantyre!

Four goals in 10 minutes from Blantyre from three different scorers gave them a five goal advantage heading into the break.
