Clydebank took the win to maintain their unbeaten run in the PJDYFL 4th Division campaign against St Cadoc’s YC at Mountblow in their ninth league game of the season. St Cadoc’s also have a great record of five wins in eight games.
Clydebank kicked us off and kept possession of the ball really nicely, creating a one-on-one chance for Kian Bonar, but the St Cadoc’s keeper, Harry Brunton, put enough pressure on him to make him miss the target.
However, only two minutes after that, St Cadoc’s Cameron Storm received the ball at the halfway line and burst down the right-hand side, leaving him with only the keeper to beat, but Louis Brown made himself big and stopped Storm from scoring.
After St Cadoc’s dominated the opening stages of the game, Clydebank were the ones to break the deadlock 25 minutes in with a great delivery from the right-hand side for striker Mason Scholes to head it powerfully into the back of the net.
Clydebank grabbed another goal at the half-hour mark with a series of passes to the midfield, where Kai Graham shifted it onto his right and struck it into the top corner from 25 yards, leaving the keeper with no chance.
With one minute to go until half-time, Clydebank make it three. After a great initial save from the keeper, Scholes was in the right place at the right time to slot it into the back of the net.
St Cadoc’s won a corner 15 minutes into the second half. Sebastian Watson made contact on the volley from six yards out, but it was scrambled away by the Clydebank defence.
Only a minute after that, Clydebank found the back of the net. Kian Bonar burst through St Cadoc’s defence and slotted it by the keeper into the bottom corner to make it 4-0.
Clydebank scored a fifth and final goal through Andrew McNee, who picked the ball up in the midfield and lobbed the keeper from distance to put the game to bed.
