Finnart took the victory as they defeated Glasgow Utd in a five-goal thriller, as they went on to walk away with a 3-2 win.

As we got underway at Greenfield, it was the home side with the better start of the two as the opening chance fell within the first minute of the match. The chance was presented to Glasgow’s captain, Liam Moore, but his effort ended in a comfortable claim for Finnart keeper Alfie Sirrell.
The second key highlight of the game once again belonged to Glasgow as Abdelesalam Hasseen played a great eye-catching pass through the defence, gifting Witold Kalinski with a magnificent opportunity, however, a stunning save from Sirrell in goal kept them at bay.
Eventually, the game opened up in the ninth minute as Glasgow’s continuous pressing won the ball back midway in their opponents’ half. Hasseem again played a great ball into the direction of Cole Hogan, who made sure to take the opportunity and give his side the advantage in the early stages of the game.
Finnart looked to reply to the setback as Enoch Oghagbon blazed an effort off target, but his side began to show signs of danger as they settled into the game.
Glasgow Utd were presented with a dangerous free kick following a foul in a great position, however, the free kick effort from Oisin Burke was fired over as the home side looked to extend the advantage.
Finnart once again found themselves on the front foot as we began to near half-time, as they continued to create chances in search of the leveler including a great effort from Jotham Fako, but a strong save from Jackson Mackenzie denied the effort.
The final chance of the first half went the way of Finnart as they were determined to level up the game before the half-time whistle, and it went to plan for them as Christopher Smith fired on target, beating Mackenzie in goal to even things up.
Half-time score: Glasgow Utd 1-1 Finnart Blacks
Upon the return of the two teams for the second half, we were quickly back underway with Finnart picking back up on the first half momentum that they held. Ifeoluwa Dawodu and Jude Derby had shots in quick succession, but the strong goalkeeping displayed by Mackenzie denied the visitors.
As both teams fought in search of taking the lead, an opportunity arose for Glasgow’s Oisin Burke, who drove forward effortlessly. He beat several defenders before slotting it home with a remarkable effort that struck the inside of the goal before bouncing back out. However, the referee deemed the effort to have crossed the line, which allowed him to restore the home team’s advantage.
Finnart needed to once again respond to the setback, which they came close to doing so as Dawodu’s free kick effort was magnificently tipped over the top of goal for a corner kick.
The visitors found the front foot once again driving forward into a great position, but a top-class last-ditch tackle from Oisin Burke stalled the attack as the ball sailed out for another corner. This resulted in the equaliser for Finnart as Shilo Sebastiao grabbed his team’s second of the match.
The final notable highlight came from a penalty award for the visitors. With a win at stake, they made no hesitation at finding the net as Ifeoluwa Dawodu netted from the spot, sending the keeper the wrong way with the effort to take the lead for the first time in the game for a 3-2 advantage.
As we entered the final minutes, nerves kicked in for both sides as they fought for the points, but Finnart managed to do enough to take all three with them in what was an entertaining fixture.
Glasgow United Player of the Match: Oisin Burke
Burke was truly outstanding, with the result not reflecting his individual performance. He was solid defensively while also getting forward on several occasions, including his truly impressive solo goal.
Finnart Blacks Player of the Match: Shilo Sebastiao
Sebastiao not only got onto the scoresheet but was also continuously causing danger for the opposition with several opportunities throughout the game, as well as some great passes to create chances for his teammates.
Glasgow United Magic Moment:
Oisin Burke’s goal has to be highlighted once again for the spectacular effort. A goal that gave his side the lead for the second time in the match, however, they were unfortunate not to have walked away with any result.
Finnart Blacks Magic Moment:
The late penalty goal gave the visitors the result they worked hard to achieve, having been a goal down on two occasions, they showed great spirit to fight back.
