Glasgow Athletic standout performance against Cambuslang Colts

Glasgow Athletic Whites take the win over Cambuslang Colts yellows to get back to winning ways and increase the gap to league trailers.

Glasgow piled the pressure early on and it paid off as Orran Cumming played an incisive through ball to Karol Ogorek who opened up his body and side footed it into the bottom corner to take an early lead ten minutes in.

Glasgow increased the lead just ten minutes later, once again it was Cumming with another through ball but this time it was to Tyler McGlaughlin who used tidy footwork to take it round the keeper and put it into the back of the net

After the goal the Cambuslang’s defence tightened up and kept it 2 nil going into half time.

However, Glasgow came out to the second half creating a lot of chances and keeping control of possession.

Glasgow’s performance paid off as Tyler McLaughlin won the ball on the right hand side, took it to the byline and whipped it in to Imran Turay who got himself on the scoresheet.

Glasgow made it four from a shot on target that fell to Mitchell Bruce, who was in a great position to tuck it away with no chance for the goalkeeper.

Glasgow kept the goals coming as Abu Conteh found Hussain Tememey at the edge of the box he took his touch and fired it into the far bottom corner.

Glasgow finished the game on a high with a great ball over the top to Abu Conteh who volleyed it home and secured the victory.

Glasgow Athletic Man of the Match: Tyler McLaughlin.

McLaughlin showed tidy footwork, kept possession well and was a constant threat to Cambuslang down that right hand side.

Cambuslang Colts Yellows Man of the Match: Michael Mesfin.

Mesfin showed great skill, ability and encouragement to his teammates throughout the game.

Glasgow Athletic’s magic moment:

Glasgows second goal was a well worked goal of free flowing football from the defence all the way to when the ball was put in the back of the net.

Cambuslang Colts Yellows magic moment:

Goalkeeper Robbie Wilson got subbed off injured at half time and Nebyu Yonas stepped up and put the gloves on. Yonas made a few great saves early in the half and a good performance for the rest of the game.
