January’s Coach of the Month: Blantyre Celtic U15 Yellows’ Rabby, Robbie and Don

As we enter a new year and the final months of the season, so does our YFS Coach of the Month award.

The YFS Coach of the Month for January are Rabby, Robbie and Don from Blantyre Celtic U15 Yellows.

Currently operating in the CSFA C Division, the coaches endured a challenging start with only one league win in 2025 and with only 12 players, they were on the brink of folding.

However, two wins and a draw in January have seen a remarkable turnaround in fortunes on and off the pitch and at the time of writing, the team are six games unbeaten.

On receiving the award, Rabby said: “It is a great feeling to see that the work that Robbie, Don and I have put in is getting recognised as well as the results.”

Rabby also heaped praise on the players for their efforts and the growing belief in the squad:

“We have been working on building a positive mindset, improving the fitness levels amongst the group and letting them believe because I do not think they were believing in themselves.

“And now they can see that they are reaping the rewards for all the hard work they have and continue to put in; it is all credit to the boys.”

“There is a different mentality around training, they are buzzing, it is such a good atmosphere, and I can only see them progressing more and more leading up to the end of the season.”

As the club looks to the future, Rabby believes that the difficulties they have endured this season will stand them in good stead.

He concluded: “You do not learn from winning every game, you learn more in defeats, and your attitude and for us, it is about all coming together as a team and moving forward.”
