North Berwick and Dunbar United Link Up for New Player Progression Pathway

North Berwick FC have announced a new player development partnership with Dunbar United FC, creating a pathway for young players to progress towards U20s and senior football.

The agreement will see eligible North Berwick players selected by Dunbar United given the opportunity to train and compete with their U20 side through a dual-registration arrangement.

This will happen while they continue to play and develop with North Berwick.

The partnership aims to provide a bridge between youth and adult football, giving players the opportunity to experience the demands of U20 football while remaining connected to their grassroots club.

Dunbar United have developed their U20 programme since its formation in 2022, with 28 players progressing to make their First Team debut and six earning professional contracts, according to North Berwick FC.

For North Berwick, the agreement is part of a wider ambition to establish their own senior teams in the future, creating a complete pathway from their youngest age groups into adult football.

Until then, the partnership with Dunbar United provides an opportunity for talented young players to access a higher level of football without having to leave North Berwick FC.

The agreement represents another example of clubs working together to create clearer pathways for young players and help bridge the gap between grassroots youth football and the senior game.
