Scottish youngster dubbed “Scottish Messi” ready for Patrick Vieira Crystal Palace

Talented Scottish youngster Scott Banks has scored consecutively in pre-season friendlies against Charlton Athletic and Reading last week, as Patrick Vieira was keen on developing him and other young players at the Selhurst Park ahead of the season.

The 19-year-old forward, who is a graduate of Dundee United’s youth academy, arrived at Selhurst Park during the 2020 winter transfer window. The youngster spent some time on loan at Alloa and Dunfermline while representing Scotland at the under-19 and under-21 levels.

Patrick Vieira, who is the current head coach of Crystal Palace, has been seen to be handing the Scottish youngster opportunities this summer and the player didn’t fail to help the team score goals, which were covered with odds from best online casinos au.

Having bagged a goal and a first-time finish in the team’s 2-2 draw against Charlton, Banks went on to score a stunning free-kick in the closing stages of Palace 3-1 victory at Reading.

Crystal Palace fans have already dubbed Banks ‘The Scottish Messi’. Vieira also used this chance to praise the attacking midfielder for his work while believing that Banks will adapt to English football well.

Speaking to the media about the Scottish midfielder, Vieira, who replaced Roy Hodgson as Palace manager last month, said: “His work was really good, but he’s somebody who technically can play at that level. He’s really smart, always finding the right position to allow himself to go forward. He’s a really smart kid and I think he will spend time with the first team.

Vieira continued: “It’s always difficult when you manage to have a couple of [first-team] players and a lot of young players from the academy to find the right balance. But I’m quite satisfied with where we are tactically. There’s a really good understanding from the players about what I want and now we have all the players available to perform.”

Palace fans might get a chance to witness Banks prowess once more when the Premier League officially returns this month, they will be travelling over the Stamford Bridge to play against Chelsea for their first league game of the season.

With Banks being favoured by Vieira, Banks might just be making an appearance in the game against Chelsea. Regardless of the outcome, the player could be a top talent for the 2021/22 campaign and he’s one to watch out for.

In other news, Vieira is keen on keeping the club’s superstar, Wilfried Zaha at Selhurst Park for the upcoming season. He said via meilleur machine a sous en ligne: “I’m aware about Wilfried [Zaha and his situation] in the last couple of years but we had a really good conversation and I’m looking forward to working with him.

“He’s one of the most talented players in this league and we don’t want to lose one of our best players.

“All the players are smart enough to see what the club is trying to build and where the club want to go – we’ve made some really exciting young player signings and I think that shows the direction the football club wants to take.”
