Suited and Booted: Row’s lottery success

Based in the South West of Glasgow, Harmony Row FC is a long-standing community club that deliver high quality footballing sessions from the age of eight all the way up to their amateur side.

Since joining the YFS Grassroots Lottery in 2020, Harmony Row have raised a staggering £2,509 which will be used to fund a new range of kits for the players.

In a statement, Harmony Row FC said: “On behalf of the kids and coaches at Harmony Row, the club committee would like to thank everyone who has bought lottery tickets since the draw went live in 2020. The lotto has raised £2,509.93 up until the end of January and we have recently put this towards new kit for the kids.

“Overall, we have had 14 winners, handing out £500 in prize money. With winners coming from parents, family members and supporters from all ages groups. We thank you all for your kind generosity over the past few difficult months.”

The YFS Grassroots Lottery is an initiative that helps provide Scottish Youth football clubs with year-round fundraising and access to several off the pitch benefits. Since its launch in 2020, clubs such as: Pollok United Soccer Academy, Stirling Albion Junior academy and Greenock Morton’s youth academy have all joined the partnership.

The initiative is continuing to help youth football clubs generate funds to acquire kits, equipment, and pay for other costly expenses. There are currently 16 participants and as of the end of February, YFS has helped raise £24,929 so far.

After agreeing a new partnership with Greaves Sports last week, Harmony Row will utilise the overwhelming donations to purchase a brand-new range of kits for their players from the well-known sports brand.

Gary Watt of Harmony Row stated: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Greaves sports and provide our coaches and players with our club kit. We look forward to working with Greaves until the summer of 2023 and offering some additional benefits to all those connected to the club”.

Miller Greaves, Director of Greaves Sports stated: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Harmony Row and look forward to working with the club over the next three years”.
