Zenith Coins Player of the Week: Hutchison Vale’s Jamie Laidlaw

Congratulations to Jamie Laidlaw as the Hutchison Vale full-back becomes the first winner of the Youth Football Scotland Zenith Coin Player of the Week in 2026.

An outstanding performance against Broxburn Athletic United saw Hutchison Vale run out as 6-0 winners to continue their perfect run in the league, sitting top of the SERYFA U16s Division One with 11 wins from 11. Amongst the six goals were four contributions from Jamie as he opened the scoring from a corner before setting two up and then finishing his work with a second.

Jamie said, “It feels great to win this award, and I am proud that my performance was recognised and voted YFS Zenith Coin player of the week.”

He believes that it will give him a boost for the rest of the season as he and the whole team have aspirations of winning the league and league cup, which don’t seem far away from expectations, after the team’s impressive form this season.

Even from left-back, Jamie has been contributing either a goal or a goal contribution per game, “proving that full-backs can still contribute to goals,” says coach Kieran Miller.

Jamie enjoys his football and playing for a team such as Hutchison Vale. Talking about the club, he said: “My favourite part about playing for Hutchison Vale is how everyone in the team is so close with each other, and we are all good pals, which benefits on the pitch but overall makes football more enjoyable.” Congratulations, Jamie, on winning the Youth Football Scotland Zenith Coin Player of the Week award and all the best for the rest of the season.
