Oscar McAusland has won this week’s Youth Football Scotland player of the week Zenith Coin.
The St. Andrew’s BC 2011 Whites right-back impressed on foreign soil as his side participated in the Holland Easter Open.
St. Andrew’s returned home as winners, with Oscar netting an incredible five goals in seven games from defence, and his coach David McKechnie was full of praise for his top scorer.
McKechnie said: “We won our section and Oscar was very much a big part of why we did.
“He plays right-back and finished as our top goalscorer with a total of five goals from seven over two days.
“In our fixture against Northants Fundamentals from England, he scored two against them but he was brilliant throughout the tournament.”
Oscar was part of a defence that kept five clean sheets in their seven fixtures, and the player himself is over the moon with his form being recognised.
“I had a great experience representing St. Andrews BC at the Holland Easter Open, and I am delighted to receive the award from Youth Football Scotland after a very successful weekend with the team.
“I’d also like to thank the coaches David, Colin and Brian as it would not have been possible without them.”
Everyone at YFS congratulates not only Oscar on his achievement, but the rest of his squad on their success in the Holland Easter Open and wish them nothing but the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
